    Gearing the Tuono

I did the 15-tooth front. Is the what most are doing?

Ttraynor I did it and the bike seems to rev a little more, though everything feels better about the bike. Not sure how and if it effects fuel range. :-)

    15 front for me. Awesome.

Not sure how going up another in the rear will make her feel. But 15 is good.

I can comment on that...15T up front worth every penny (if it fits ones needs). I also just went up +1 in the rear (43) so running 15/43. Conclusion = 15/42 world of difference, 15/43 barely noticeable and I wish I would have gone with 15/44 at least. My riding partners with their R1's are running 15/45 on their machines and get out of the corners like bat out of hell! Comes down to personal preference, riding style and type of riding. I just went past 3300 miles over two months of daily commuting (splitting lanes during peak hours of traffic) and shorter gearing is definitely working out for me.

I did the 15T up front and it feels much better for my riding style as others have stated. But I do notice that 5 to 6th feels like nothing changes in that the engine sounds like it never changed a gear. Not a big deal but I notice it.

There comes a point where going higher in teeth doesnt give more acceleration as you need to change gears too quickly.

15/43 is probably cool. But I suspect 15/44 would be too high geared.

15/42 is a good compromise, the standard set up of 16/42 is too tall IMO.

Dropping to a 15 makes starts and traffic so much easier, and puts you in the right rpm band for the twisty stuff, I can't tell the difference in fuel mileage - any more than 95 miles is a blessing!

I'm going to try 16/44 next sprocket change, I've not ridden this combination but am going to give it a try.

Accidentally bought both alternatives and give it a try 15/44. a bit short for high way but nice everywhere else...except maybe for fuel range.

The standard gearing isn't far from perfect for me. 2 up back isn't 'quite' as radical as 1 down front. More importantly - Supersprox look soooo cool. Bling.
