    Question 2001 154cc kit help

    hi guys,

i was just wondering if you could take a look at this for me?
    http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-m...50cc/103659432

i know theirs not much to go on but i was just wondering what kind of questions to ask the seller and also what to check on the bike when viewing it. also in regard to the 154cc kit does it need to have a after market crank shaft and clutch like the 50's do and will it be reliable also what speed do you think it will max out at ?

thanks for your help in advance

aww man think ya missed it:/ ad is gone now coz seller removed it

how much was it up for? ewt up wit it

i know two people who have Rs 125 with 154cc bore kits and hit 120mph without pushing

reliabilty though hhmm well one of them always needs bump starting coz starter doesnt have enough power to turn the bbk and his clutch cable snaps like every week so he needs people to bump start it with him on it which takes a while and he screams down the road haha

get a stock one mate or not far of like a performance exhaust ect, and get a old type as thats where the quality seems to be as all these new two strokes are all bout saving money and dont last as long as the older generation do

my suzuki rgv fun 125 is 1993! but had a re-build last june by a mechanic and doesnt skip a beat fairings are tatty though but still looks half decent ESPICALLY for its age and still looks really modern

The Polini is a barrel just like any other. I have one. It will produce more power if set up correctly, therefore it will reduce the maintenance intervals of your bottom end. That's about it.

It will not cause a clutch cable to snap, there's no relation. It makes the same amount of compression, so it will not affect the starter motor. Your friend's bike evidently has other issues. And the latest RS125 had outstanding build quality and features, in fact so did the older ones.

Mumbl3s. It'll do the same speed as a 125, it'll just get there faster - unless the gearing has been changed. Take a compression tester, check the plug for colour and the exhaust for dribble. If it isn't set up right it'll either blow up or run like shit. What you're looking for are signs of maintenance, if you can't spot this yourself then find someone who can go with you.

No worries. Maybe you just haven't worked on both types like I have - they're almost identical

I've already seen, lots Build quality across the shapes is excellent, you'll be happy. Just pick one that's been cared for, they're fun to rebuild but you'd want to ride it for a while first!
