Top 70cc cycl kit. odd thermostat sensor in head- larger, always have this problem

hey, 1st time post, long time reader. I need a thermostat sensor, in the head, for my 2000 sr 50 lc, minerilli. i ordered a stock aprilia replacement but it is too small. the sensor in my head is larger in diameter. my kit was installed at AF1 back in 03 or something. it is a top 70cc, violet color, aluminum, i think. i have already contacted AF1 and they referred me to a KOSO USA aftermarket sensor kit, or to try to find an adapter. If no one has any other ideas i will find a bushing to fit, I hope. maybe i could find an inside diameter brass bushing to fit and then machine the outside diameter to fit. i fear that the OD thread is a standard pipe thread and the ID is metric fine thread. AF1 also told me of the RS50 thermo relay, but it is a two prong plug and mine is male connection, like other scooters. anyone deal with this recently? what happen to Top performance, did they go out of business?thanx firefighter from tx

Top Performance is still around and they have great products. Without knowing exactly what TS you have. Best to just pull it out and bring it to a motorcycle shop. They can match it up and cross-reference it and get you a replacement.
Did the old one fail or something?

ok. so after a whole lot of work i found a gates brass bushing at NAPA with the correct threads on the inside but a different thread pictch on the outside. i was just about to get to work to re-thread the outside and i noticed something for the first time, i had a stock Aprilia sensor with the correct bushing the whole time. It just looked like a different sensor when all put together in the bike. My mistake. i thought that it would be important to close out this post with the correct info posted. the top 70cc kit that is violet in color and alloy, maybe aluminum, should already have the correct bushing for the stock Aprilia temp sensor. let the bashing begin.
