The larger viewport is the reason I use a Nolan N43. Motorcycle full face helmets don't allow me to see all my guages without dropping my head thus taking my eyes off the road. If a larger chinbar floats your boat, go for it.

Sorry I have not posted recently I have been busy buying a house (it is being built but hope to close on 9/11 and move in on 9/14) Which means good new for my Scarabeo as I will have a 2 car garage and will be able to stop parking the scooter outside. I also bought a new helmet which arrived Friday and so far I LOVE it.

the built in sun shield is so awesome not having to worry about making sure to take my sunglasses off before removing helmet is great.
Thanks again for all the help an advice
Terri
Crazy! I just bought the exact same helmet, but plain white without the pink. Helmet has a great fit to it and great features.
Thanks I LOVE it so far and I agree I think the fit is nice. On mine hey also donated $5 to breast cancer research and also the price was really good compared to other similar ones. The reviews on this was great too
Funny thing to Rem though that G max in bout three weeks will be about 88$ or so other than that its reasonable in a few just chuck it the thee hjc and g max's and those lines tend to have inexp liners be careful washing etc i buy these things on crazy sales pretty regularly lotta helmets here sometimes i change 2-3 times daily have night n day units hi heat n colder units one w heated face shield im serious year rounder
That's what I wear, Shark SK. It has an anti-scratch iridium visor that reflects light and is not transparent from the outside.
I wear glasses and do most of my driving in the city and a full face helmet is just too inconvenient. But for folks who live in the burbs or rural areas and do a lot of highway driving a full face makes sense.

Full face helmets make sense for anyone who does not want to go through having their lower jaw reconstructed after a minor crash. Replacment lips are hard to come by and you probably don't want to know where the substitute parts come from.
I have worn the Shark Evoline for two years now - modular, and certified for DOT & CE in both full face and 3/4 mode. Expensive, but versatile.
That is a cool looking helmet
Just got a HJC IS33 - 3/4 helmet with full clear visor and build in flip down sun visor. I have the HJC full face version of this helmet - I like them both. Put quick release buckles on both. Both white for visibility. I do worry about lower face protection - but it get so freakin hot here in the summer. I wear the full face in the morning and the 3/4 when it gets hot out. Bought from motorcycle superstore - I like their return policy - you pay freight back - about 7 bucks.

You made a great decision, regarding the Helmet and the protection it provides!
What about the rest?
My Helmet helped me survive, photo attached.
The facial damage came after the Flip-Up Lens, flipped upwhile I was still in motion.
I had never considered any Body Armor.
The damage to trunk of my body almost took my life, photos attached.
Punctured / collapsed Lung, four broken Ribs, crushed Ankle.
In my analysis of my situation: Helmet and Body Armor =minimum Safety Equipment when riding.
Now I know what the acronym ALGATT “really” means to aRider.
It’s been about 90 days since the accident.
The pain is still very severe.
With God’s help, I pray I’ll be walking again in another 90 days.
Ride Safe and protect yourself as well as you can from the “other”Driver.

Oh man, Mike Lynch, what a horrible experience. Thank God you lived. You are such a frequent and knowledgeable contributor to this forum I wasn't aware this had happened to you 3 mos ago. So very sorry. But take it one day at a time in your recovery and keep the forum posted on your progress. I'll be coming down your way in 2 months to get on a cruise boat so maybe you'd feel like visitors then. Yes, I got a new mesh riding jacket in a lighter color as my black non-armored jacket just too hot in Fla in summertime so I spent the extra $40 and got the armored version of the mesh jacket and I can now wear it on the hotest days comfortably with just a tshirt under it and I feel much safer. Not more confident and less vigilant mind you, just more comfortable in knowing I have better protection. Hang in there, man!

Glad you were protected and will be okay in time![]()
A speedy and full recovery to you Mike. The Beo can be replaced and you have a spare. One of your boys can start it up for you occasionally to keep it in working order.
A full face helmet and mesh body armor is needed for all riders along with sturdy ankle protecting boots and armored riding gloves. A properly vented full face helmet is not too hot even here in Florida.
I at one time thought it was too hot to gear up here in Florida but after being properly chastised by another rider and seeing what happened to the road rash queen, I gave the mesh armored gear along with a full face modular helmet in a light color a shot and found it was actually cooler as they better protected you from the direct rays of the sun.
I am still looking for reasonably price armored overpants with shin, knee and hip protection that will be suitable for our Florida weather.
