Valve cover Gasket question

Recently ( 1 month) ago , I changed the front valve cover gasket.
today I noticed it's leaking again at the same lower point of the cover, right above the oil tank.
although I cleaned the area where it's was leaking 1 month ago....now the same leakage

why , did I something wrong

You know Stanley I'm going to be right there with you in a few months when I do my valve check. Is there not some loctite or permatex tack that the shops use to keep the gasket in place and cover minor imperfections? I know many will balk at the idea, however like for the fuel plate aprilia used some magic red goo....

What says the experts?

You can use a small wipe of RTV silicone if you think there is an imperfect seal.

I had exactly the same problem on the fut last month. Took me an age to figure out where the leak was coming from. I thought it was me, from when i did the cam timing and hadnt seeted the gasket properly? Took the valve cover off re seated the gasket buttoned it up and touch wood 2 rides later no oil.

...there is an air intake boot drain very near to the location you describe on Gen1 models. If you have oil in the airbox, and we all do, it can soak past filter easily and into intake boot. From there is drains out of the drain hole and looks for all Intents and purposes as though the valve cover gasket is leaking. What year is your bike?

There is definitely an airbox oil/water drain in the right location to make it look like a valve cover gasket. I have seen plenty of bad gaskets or for instance I have incorrectly installed more than one good gasket. I have seen a LOT of airbox drips that look like valve cover gasket leaks. Strong flashlight and some solvent and compressed air along with a healthy dose of patience are required. Take a look in the airbox UNDER the filter plate, see of it is wet inside.
