Nice bike! You mentioned it seemed harder to steer than the Shiver? Doesn't seem right. That thing should steer with barely a thought.

Minus some of the miles though, just got mine this spring myself with 3700 miles on it, barely broken in.

    Congratulations from Portland.

Punter: Re: steering, Right you are! I discovered that both front and rear tires had way low air pressure. Aired them up to 36psi front, 40psi rear, and she handles great now, steering easily at speed! LOVE the bike. Just got home from riding it to work for the first time. Commute in truck = 45min, just did it in 20min because I can use the diamond lane

Now that's more like it! Had a friend swap his R1 with the Tuono on a more or less straight road, (hwy 1 between Cambria and San Simeon). He lasted 2 miles and pulled over and asked for his bike back. Said it was too twitchy

As another poster mentioned, the tire wear can make it handle funny too. Keep an eye on the "squareness". Oh, and they eat back tires like scooby snacks.

I know someone mentioned red being fast, which I've heard, but I know for certain the more silver you can put on that bike the faster it'll go.

My favourite too. Had mine from new - one of the original colours schemes when Aprilia released the Tuono in 2006. Still love mine, never sell it.

Gotta have the blue wheels!!! (my local dealer has 2 leftover 2009's, and the black wheels just don't do it for me )
