It was a difficult decision to cancel the Senior - first time in 107 years, so I am told. I was involved in the discussions between the clerk of the course and riders. It was the right call by the CoC. Some people are drawing lots of silly conclusions as a result of the decision, like superbikes should be removed from the course because they cannot race in the wet. Yes, it might happen again but we had one really good superbike race and I don't think our record in cancelling the senior (once in 107 years) is something that you can draw too many conclusions from. We could run Superbikes in the wet but what we want is a competitive race, not a dangerous lottery dictated more by the road conditions than the skill of the riders. We had no fatal race incidents in TT2012, which is an achievement to be celebrated.

This is more about the weather at the end of last week than the suitability of one particular class of bike for the future. See you in TT2013.

Gutted they couldn't run the Senior.

What suprised me was that they had no facility to run the race either Sunday or Monday. I thought that had happened in the past.

I totally understand riders reluctance to race in variable conditions, but if the superbikes can't race, why not send out superstocks with road tyres?
Some people will tell you that slow is good – but I’m here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba.

The decision had to be made, it must have been the right one. If a track that big isn't on the right condition, there's not alot that can be done apart from the rescheduling that happened.
At least they got a large portion of the racing done in the first few days. I had noticed the lack of racer fatalities this year, this is great news.

Thanks for your efforts FutIlse, would love to pop over one year if i ever get the £££'s and the cooperation of my riding buddies.

I actually rode the track through Glen Helen on the way to my vantage point just before the roads closed and I was thinking there is no way I'd want to be coming through there on a 200hp+ machine at the rate they do, the place is scary enough without adding damp moss patches! I had an absolutely amazing time watching what can only be described as the best riders in the best race in the world, there is nothing else that comes close. Can't wait till next year.

Looked on Discovery Channel and didn't see the TT showing anywhere in the future. Anyone know the deal this year? Will it be on TV in the States later?

Didn't read any post as I do not want to ruin the results.

Thank you for keeping them safe. I know that both Brandon and Chris Sarbora both had offs, but both have said the care was top notch.

With hope Trevor, I'll see you next year.

Barring something unforeseen, I will be there. One more item checked off and all.
