Nothing long yet, but I ride it daily without drama. The wife and I did about 1,000 miles roundtrip last week and the bike was brilliant for two-up. Last summer I rode about 2,000 miles roundtrip to a conference. The bike ran well, except for the failed dashboard that was already a problem before I left. Then we did about 1,400 miles roundtrip on a little camping jaunt, and it was good.

We did 3000km in 10 days on two Capos (so, 6000km), loaded with three people and all camping gear; both bikes have metal fuel couplers & upgraded Rec-reg; I took my standard dirt-bike tool-roll and never needed it.
Riding a Capo is like sex - sensible precautions prevent unfortunate outcomes and unneccessry expense.....

Agree with you entirely Andrew - these forums are great but can create a state of paranoia when all you hear of is the things that go wrong and not the times it goes right !!!

Last big trip I did I took one very small tool kit I use and that's it!

Forums can make you paranoid about a lot of things, trouble is most people tell you about the things that go wrong and don't tell you about all the times things just go right.

4500Km into South West Qld from Melbourne ...didnt miss a beat. In fact the Capo was the only one of 4 bikes that came back in the same condition it left !!!!! Much to my relief and the surprise of the others .....

    2500 km , a week ago for 2 days .

The bike (2002 model) was working all day , from late morning ( 08:00 ) until late night ( 01:00) , through hard roads even with dirt and rocks ....and guess what ?

It didnt broke , it didn t ask for nothing !!

Although , some other bikes didn t make it.....

Enjoy your bikes , if something is to broke it will , if not it will not ....and that is not an aprilia originality !!!

Mr B, we'll be in Interlaken on the 23rd and probably stay there overnight before heading here http://www.astoria-obergoms.ch/en/ac...rcycle/touring

I've been told Locarno is worth a visit too.

Perhaps we'll see you en route.

    1. After the first schock, final experience was : maybe the best possible place in the world for solving this sort of problem ( unbeliveable , isn't it ?!?! )

just came back from Tennessee to New Mexico about 1200 miles and nonstop! Well, i had to stop for gas and food and only 2 hours nap at the rest area on my sleeping bag but i was able to ride it all night long, really no problemo. Most comfy bike i ever ride, but i have a parabellum 25" windscreen and does a good job to take the wind out of my face. I am 5.9 by the way. Maaaan, what a comfy bike specially on twisty roads no one could catch me on the way, heh hee. , do not worry about capo at all. Just make sure to check all the bolts and screws b4 you leave and check them on the way again. I lost one screw from the pipe heat protector which wasnt big deal to replace it. Make sure u have a little air pump and quick flat fix plugs etc with u. Good luck. If you get sleepy on the road, start eating nuts, i mean not your nuts but peanuts or what ever you can get from any store. you will wake up right away. I also used 5 hours energy drink to keep me awake on the road. Dont forget to use ear plugs or listen your fm radio on the road to make the trip enjoyable and fun.

Gem, my mom is from former Yugoslaviya. Let me know next time you take a trip down to Turkey etc. I will go with you if i can save enough money. Actually you should leave your wife behind and we should ride to Ukraine and riga, Latvia to chase beautiful chicks there.

Man, how lucky you are to live in europe! All those countries are 1000 miles radius around you.
