Question Right side foam/soft trim piece

Ok, this is going to sound stupid... and I tried searching around... but I don't even know what the part is called. On both sides of the bike, below the upper part of the rear frame (that goes under the seat), there are these tubular, soft, foam trim pieces that slide over the black body pieces below them. On the left side the thing is fine, but on the right side, it's "pushed up" by a zip tie that's holding some electrical wires to the frame. In any case, the right side trim is constantly coming off on my T, flopping in the wind (never fully fell off) and driving me nuts.

I can think of a few ways to remedy this, but I'm curious what others have done? Or am I the only one suffering from a floppy soft piece (that's what she said)?

I have no issues with these seals. see if you can slightly re route the seal. if not you could consider using glue.

I have the same problem on my T too. I just did a trackday and took it off beforehand for fear of losing it. I seem to have to adjust it everytime I ride. I'll probably end up gluing mine I think. Unless someone has other alternatives.

I was thinking double-sided tape too. I didn't want to glue it down, just in case, since you never know. Alternatively, I considered cutting off the zip tie and tying those wires down in other places, but I think the tape idea is a better first try.

I just took it off. It doesn't have any real function anyway.

Yes Mr. Metal . I have had the same problem . It seems that every time I exceed 100 MPH that spllit tube becomes " a jar ' Have thought about double stick tape but that seems to be an inappropit repair because it will send the leading edge more into the wind . I thought about glueing it as recomended by others But not happy with that either . So if you come up with a good fix let me know . Please . thanx .
