Dumb question but somebody "borrowed" my large metric socketsand I need to get a replacement to get my front wheel off. I have searched but can only find the thread size for the nut, not the socket size.

1&3/16" works for me. Fits very well.
Just a little hint, I always have ring spanners under the seat for the front and rear axle nuts. I like ring spanners cause the give a lot of leverage and you can always extend the leverage with another open ended spanner.
(mind you, they "fit" under the seat. Big buggers!!)

RECENTLY UPDATED!!
Yes it was 30mm and I had brain fade. All I had to do was measure it ha ha.
All sorted and new pair of Metzler Tourance EXPs fitted. Its as hell of an improvement having round tires. FWIW the 2003 OEM tires lasted 12,300 miles.
