I hear ya.......... I have to look at the glass half full on this. I'm just frustrated that this had to happen when it did........I'm supposed to head to Colorado, and then the Grand Canyon in 4 weeks! Not sure I can get new forks ( if needed) before the trip!!

Make sense?

Agree with ya RLB, thats the way i spotted mine were fooked on the project bike

The above crease was right up under the edge of the lower clamp and not easily visible.

When I was a wee laddie, a mate and I rode one day to a town in Western Australia called Kalgoorlie. (The wildest town you could possibly imagine)

On the way back my mate hit a wombat doing around 140km/h. What was left of the front wheel was imbedded in the engine. The bike was a Ducati 900 SS (same as mine). Instead of the engine being a 90 degree V, it was more like 60 degrees. Thus, hitting a wombat is like hitting a concrete brick.

To end the story, he went over the bars and landed on some salt bush. No broken bones, but a few scratches and some damaged pride. The worst part was carrying him home to Perth some 250kms. To say it was uncomforatble is an understatement ('90 Ducati 900 SS only have a single seat. You get picture!!??)

I've come close to hitting some deer near Sydney and they scare the living daylights out of me. I never ride full tilt at dusk or dawn near bushy areas.

Glad you are ok and in one peice Elmo.

Hey Elmosisu, if you are coming to Colorado, I am in Grand Junction, right off I-70. Let me know when your taking your trip and if you are passing by this way, we will have to meet up for a cold beer (or if you need to do any wrenching on the Capo)! I might even be able to talk my buddy into joining us and we can get 3 Capo's in the same pic! Too bad you wont be out here for 4 weeks, because on June 2nd, I am putting together a vintage motorcycle show (our 4th annual), and I'm expecting over 100 vintage bikes on display.
