Put the battery on charge for a number of hours. If it isn't fully charged the motor will turn but not put out enough juice for the plugs to fire well enough to achieve ignition. Had this same problem this past winter. Bought a trickle maintenance charger and keep it on it when I don't plan on riding it for a few days and have had no troubles since. Also check and clean your battery terminals, the littlest corrosion can cause trouble starting.

I did notice that when I turn the key on I hear a relay under the tank, but I don't hear the fuel pump came on as it always did when I the bike ran. The battery was new and had been on on a battery tender for about 24 hours. Volts were 13.40 when I put it in the bike.

My bike wouldn't start this season and it turned out to be corrosion under the rubber boot on the front of the starter the copper connector needing a sanding and tightening.

We have done more trouble shooting on the bike. We have checked the power to the fuel pump, which was 12.4 volts at the plug. We put power to the fuel pump and it turns over fine. We checked the kick stand safety switch, clutch lever switch, tip over sensor, and all checked fine. We pulled the spark plug and got no spark when turning over the engine. Any thoughts on what to do next?

My 2010 Shiver bought in September wouldn't start today at work. Checked relay, etc. Voltage getting to the starter motor but it will not budge. Also tried jumping it off another known good battery but to no avail. So its off to the dealers to be checked and sorted, hopefully it wont be gone too long.

Have you guys tried bump starting it? If it will bump start then you can eliminate larger problems because it will run once started. Could be starter, could be electrical short, etc. If it will not bump start *could* could be a bigger issue.

I had the starter relay problems and was far away from home, had to bump start twice (had to stop for gas) to get home then got the start fixed...

No spark = no start, bump or otherwise. Do you have any DSB errors stored in the maintenance menu?

    Tip-over sensor?

Didn't try to bump start it, it was at the end of the day and I wouldn't have been able to get it to the dealers in time so didn't bother to be honest. I've only had it 9 months so I want the dealer to sort it out.

There were not any DSB errors or service warning at all; nothing.

While I got my bike back from the dealer, it turns out that the ECU had a code for bad coils, they removed them and they tested ok.They put them back on and cleared the code and the bike has been running great. Upgraded mapping and starter relay. New mapping has made alot of improvement in bike preformance.
