Sometimes what feels like a warped rotor is pad material build up on the rotor. This can happen when you change pad brands or compounds even within the same brand.

To fix you need a simple hone and a power drill - take the rotors off the wheel, hone both sides removing the built up pad material then re-install using loctitie on the rotor bolts.

Then bed in the new pads properly - (according to the manufacturer's recommendation)

I would say 8 out of 10 "warped rotor" complaints I've heard on motorcycles have been solved by this kind of maintenance.

i honed mine before i put them back on. i did not change out the pads at the time because there should be no issues a 7000km.

I have this same condition on my Tuono factory and thought it might be the pads. I was feeling a slight pulse especially at slow speeds but recently I was tearing up the canyons and found breaking from 75 mph + I felt like the front end was going to shake off. I think the OP is right about the mfg correcting the design so this can't occur so easily. I've never had this happen on any other bike I've own especially my 06 FZ1 with 45K and I ride both bike equally as hard. BTW the pics on the link someone posted with the fix were just "X"'s

Bought one of these and made the difference. Swapping brakes/compounds can cause issues.

I did that once already. As well as cleaned everything and followed the button mod instructions.

If you measure the rotors with a dial indicator you will see that they are not warped much if at all (measure run out with wheels/rotors on the bike).
Especially when the service manual states that acceptable limit for front rotor runout is 0.3mm (I prefer 0.1mm myself).

This is indeed a very common problem and is not caused by the rotors being warped, or the buttons that need cleaning or loosening.

The only long term solution is to replace the rotors.
I recommend buying thicker rotors (stock is 4.5mm) and use round rotors not the wavy rotors.
Some wave rotors are extreme, others like the EBC are less wavy and work OK.
    But round rotors work best.

Something often overlooked with pulsing brakes is the variation in thickness of the disc as it passes the caliper. With a micrometer - not a caliper - measure thickness around the full circle of the disc but at fixed distances from the edge.

A difference as little as 0.0005" (yes that's 5 ten thousandths) can be be felt and is barely tolerable. I have measured early Mille discs with 0.002" variation and it pulsed so bad it blurred the vision and was, for all intents and purposes, unrideable.

Variation in thickness as the disc passes the caliper is much more troublesome than mere runout.

This is what you need for racing.....at a resonable cost.

    M4 Brembo calipers
BrakeTech rotors, I chose the AXIS/SBK 320x6.5mm, get the Cobra or regular Iron discs.......the feel is second to NONE. Direct contact rotor/disc is unpresidented.
    Ferodo ZRAC pads

Keep stock master or go with RCS/forged......it's up to you.
