Just did the ride to San Simeon Sunday. My body may be ready for another one by then. Maybe. (I rode the 916)

"Tuono doesn't want to gently take your hand and guide you on a trip, it wants to rip it off and run away with it! I always get the feeling that to ride a Tuono you have to be a real man, prepared to fight it every step of the way, where as on the Triumph you can have an off day and not be left feeling inadequate"
"Tact is for people who aren't witty enough to be sarcastic"
OK, a little over 2 weeks to go, if you want to ride with us, it wouldn't hurt to post up here to help generate some interest. You're 2 minutes of posting can pay the dividend of going home with a great memory of the race and your ride which will be guided by locals who know the best spots.

As always I'm in but never seem to find you guysEspecially you Beau! My friends, a bunch of Hardley ridin' RoadSaints guys somehow reserve us front row parking and the whole deck at the Blue Fin on Friday evening every year. Dunno how they pull the strings but it is nice! Welcome to join! Here's the view from the deck, my Ape on the far right, the parking section, and the Ape on my front porch getting tuned up for the ride. Can't wait, I missed last year undergoing back surgery, but now I'm hopefully bionic.....

Since Sly McFly is right across the corner from the Blue Fin, we'll come and throw in with you guys. The BF was sold a year or 2 ago, new owners. Right after they sold, I was messaging back and forth with our late forum friend Don about reserving some space at the BF as he had organized an Ape party there a few years before. We'll have to hoist one for good ole' Don. He had just gotten himself back on the main line with a new job and new prospects when he was cut down.

Potere, yeah my friend Tom who lives up there says they are trying to turn it into some boom-sst-boom-sst night club called Club Aqua. But he is quasi confident of keeping the GP tradition alive, at least thru mid evening. Told him to get his Road Aints crew on it....

I'll be around. I may just may try to put the 916 on teh island Sunday. Still not sure if it's worth it, especially considering how much I'd have to cut back on how much beer I drink at the English Ale's tent. (DRAGONSLAYER!!!!).
Potere, what's the Friday route? Anyone down for hwy 25?
I'm 99% sure I'll be at Baja Thursday (highly recommend it!) and on the Saturday route.

Friday's route was supposed to be something for the visitors but the group I know that's coming down don't want to leave early enough to go down 1 so that means we'd be able to go Carmel Valley Rd to King City then north on 25 BUT and this is a Bertha Butt sized but, they chip-sealed it and I'm told there have been many downed bikers in the corners. If you know different, chime in.
Other ideas? S.Cruz mtns? backroads of Watsonville to Aptos?

I'll be up there Thursday night staying in Carmel at Hotel. I'm going to ride up my Shiver if its fixed by then, if not I might take my Harley if I can't figure out how to pack up enough stuff on my RSV4.
BTW if anyone wants a parking for a car, I got a pass. I'd really like to trade for a moto spot.
Current bikes; 09 Shiver, 2011 RSV4F SE, NC30
So because my duties are centered around my corner working responsibilities I wasn't going to bring my Ape. But since I'll be coming up Thursday, I'm seriously reconsidering. Truth is, at the end of most days (that start at 4:30AM) I'm usually beat. I'm thinking a ride into Cannery Row would be nice.

If you have a DoD CAC, you can buy a 3-day ticket for $50 at NPS (Naval Post Graduate School) in the MWR office. They also sell paddock passes at cost, $50. Call the office first, they may be sold out before the weekend.
The biggest issue is lodging, it's scarce by now. Suggestions are Gilroy, Watsonville, Morgan Hill, all within an hour or less from the track.

Hey everyone,
Just got my first Aprilia, new to the forum. I'll be at the race on Sunday but I have visitors from up north (really north... Canada) so I'll be driving in. I'll try and find you guys at lunch time.
