I have an RSV4 R. (non APRC)
My dash says R.
Am I correct i only have the R map/ecu setting and not the S or T?
(I feel very stupid asking this but this is what forums are for!)

did your RSV4 R (non APRC) come with a user manual?
its at home...sitting at work banging my head against table for asking.
but hey ho.
with engine running press starter button for about 5 seconds then push it again and not holding it in the r will go black then push button again and it will change map.
After you start the bike, (while the bike is running) press the start button again, it should change the "R" to "S" and then if you press again, it should change it to "T". DO NOT MOVE THE THROTTLE DURING THIS PROCESS. I recommend driving on "S" for a while before you head up to "T". You can only perform these actions at nuetral throttle. Happy Riding
you guys! Wicked.
I would ruin one of my mates if they were this dumb! How foetal of me!
Ill slowly run it/while getting used to it, then switch and see what I prefer.
*stupid Lewis*
"RACE"

Lewis, where in the UK are you?
North Kent. Ride mainly in Essex.
I like the Touring mode![]()
I was going to suggest having a try with mine to get a feel of 15/43 gearing but Kent's a bit far.
Touring mode is definately the best, I don't alter mine at all any more.
I didn't like not 'knowing' the throttle, it's easy enough to control as long as you're used to the response, altering the maps cocked that up.
Yeah I'll test out maps and see what one suits. You get used to whatever you choose, its when you start swapping around it becomes hard and when you c0ck it up.
The gearing is going to be changed. Ill need to do a bit of research. So you have gone -1 front +2 rear?
Whats the main differences? Feelings?
Mines been in T since the start lol
fancy 15/41 gearing too, whats 15/43 like?!!
Deathtraps I tell ya
We're not laughing at you, we're laughing with you.
15/43 allows you to realise more of the bike's potential on the road.
Mental acceleration with a dip in top end to 167, not an issue for me.
If you're going touring or for longer rides the increased fuel usage would convince you your tank has a hole in it so I'd retain the stock cogs to swap out if you had a trip planned.
The throttle takes a little getting used to, especially when setting off, it's quite vicious.
Messiah, the 11's on have a 42 as standard and revised box ratios so the leap isn't as drastic as it looks.
I had an '09 and went down 1 on the front, with hind sight this wasn't enough really.
