If I can find that Makita I will be getting that... if not, I will look for the locking tool... anybody recommend a specific kind and where to buy from?

Good thing I'm not driving to Denver now.. It would cost me a fortune
To purchase the necessary tools is a a good way to prevent doing any damage to parts. I find I use the tools more often than not. It also makes it a breeze to maintain and modify. I have damages parts by not using the proper tools or torque specs. So I can say I've been there. Good luck on your purchases. You can also find used quality tools. A second option. Just need to do some homework.

op, don't use an impact gun. get the right tools from hgt. although i didnt see them on his site last week, i would suppose he'd get them for you. the front variator and clutch holding tools i got from him were inexspensive and of good quality. believe me when i say that when the fever hits, you'll use'em more than a few times.

Here is the Tool you need.
Variator Blocking Tool
This is a All in one tool I just found.
Clutch/Vari Holding tool
I have not used the second link so I can not say how strong or if it would be suitable for this setup. The First link I have and works wonders and is small and fits under the seat or above the battery
I have the tools, I have yet to use them though
thank you so muchOriginally Posted by Rosscofat
