You should have unscrewed the bolt on the bottom first. I don't remember ever touching that bolt. After youunscrew the bol on the bottom then you need to take out oil filter that is to the left of the bolt that you unscrew. Just 2 scrws are holding it

Imo, proper oil change is always done like this:

    1. Oil tank drain bolt
    2. Magnet gearbox drain bolt (as picture above)
    3. Oil filter

I would have a look in there - the magnet tells you a lot about engine wear (spragclutch!)

    Thanks guys

Oliver, what do you mean with:
I would have a look in there - the magnet tells you a lot about engine wear (spragclutch!)
    What should I recognize?

You shouldn't recognize anything - in that case it's ok.

If you find a finger full of metal bits sticking to the magnet, that's when I'd start to worry

Ok I think I understand, this bold is a magnet and energize metal bits which are in the gearbox?

Yes - not only gearbox, but the entire oil circuit passes through here.

If you find a lot of metal parts like above, you better check up on your sprag clutch (most common cause for excess metal bits floating around).

I always open this bolt, it's a very good indicator & early warning method for engine wear.

It can be worth looking at the filter in the oil tank too - although mine has always been pretty clean.

While your at it.... Although mine is a b*** to unscrew.

It has got nothing to do with the question but that bike sure looks clean! Mine is a total mess compared with that.......

    Oil Change

So I just finished with anything. The magnet bold had a few metal pieces attached, but I didnt opened this bold for at least 3 years
Do I need to worry about this?
How many liters do you put in after a oil change?

ANY metal fragments on the magnet is bad news. Usual suspects are the sprag clutch and the clutch release bearing. I would check 'em if I were you and I dont measure oil doing an oil change - far to many variables. I fill until the sight glass says its full, run the motor for 10 minutes and check again

If it's totally, utterly drained, i.e. after a sprag clutch repair with removed oil tank, swapped filter and clutch opened:

3.8 liters - first 3.5l, then some additional 300ml after a few minutes idle. This is what my last measurement was (and it does indeed correspond top the manual - but I measured up to avoid mistakes)

Best method is to buy a 4l canister, fill it up to top of the measure tube and run the engine warm.

Then fill it up again according to the normal procedure.

From the pictures I notice that menkee has a mille/tuono oil tank fitted. They are a little smaller than the Falco ones - therefore the total oil capacity is less than for the Falco .... so you will need to put in less than suggested above or you will be blowing a lot into the airbox.
