    Nooj Lights MkII

I made a set for Aladin a few months ago and have now finally got some on my own bike (can't have the swamp-dweller claiming exclusivity to such fine bling!) :-)

    £82.61 - US$131 with indicators
    £66.58 - US$106 without indicators
    £0.00 - US$14 shipping

Plus the cost of a donor light, or you can send me your light.

Includes a solid state flasher for the correct flash rate and two diodes to do the clocks/repeater light mod.

Same rules, no matter where in the EU:

18cms between inside of rear indicators (24cms front), and they must carry an E-50R type approval Mark (type: 11 = front, 12=rear).

Our MOT in Germany would fail that, and cops may stop you... I guess plod in the UK (and also France, where they don't even have MOT on bikes) are a little less anal about mods like that.

I like it! But I would not risk the heavy fines & loss of insurance cover we have in place for that....

Edit: Weirdly enough no one has ever mentioned anything about the original Nooj MKI LED board (without integrated indicators) I am running behind a clear lens...

But that mikeo lens is a 1:1 copy and carries an OEM Aprilia E-mark.

Authorities & bureaucrats are so stupid, sometimes they just want to be "cheated".

as it happens, I have a couple of tiny blisters fitted to the outside of the rear cowl so I am ok with that

and my rear lens, as a direct copy of the original, has the original marks so...

and yes, the average UK Plod would not know, as currently that kind of offence does not have an instant fine attached - i.e., it is not an income generator so porcus mobilius are not taught it....

what do they do with bikes like the VFR and futura that are stock w integrated signals?
I don’t need to trek through Africa and I don’t need to climb Everest — I need to ride every f***ing curvy road between here and there. That’s far more powerful. Far more majestic. Far more of a journey.

Integrated designs aren't banned at all! Many newer bikes and most scooters have it.

When you measure up, you'll see they have 18cms, and the appropriate EU homologation marks for indicators on the lens...

However, some bikes (usually imported scooters) come with separate rear EU-spec stalk indicators, instead of the US- or Asian model integrated design.

An example is my brothers Honda Innova 125 (a Thai-made version of the venerable Honda Wave / Cub scooters). The distance of the integrated indicators wasn't wide enough for EU rules, so they fitted stalk indicators onto the rear, and moved the front indicators towards the outside of the fairing (see Eu-spec Innova...).

It's like all those DOT things that bikes must have in the USA, such as red / yellow side markers front / rear, or permanently lit yellow front lights (= indicators with two filament bulbs) in North America. That'll be banned here...

Besides the minimum distance between them (which seems to be a sensible rule), the thing we can't have that I believe is allowed in the USA (at least for cars) is the tail light flashing on and off on the side you are turning. We must have separate lights (which Nooj's design does have).
I believe nooj's design is probably OK if you treat the indicators as secondary repeaters and have other additional indicators that are spaced correctly.

I have Nooj MK1 lights with integrated blinkers behind a clear lens...we have bigger troubles in Ireland than worrying about the legalities of this...no bike MOT either

There's no minimum distance for indicator spacing in the bike MoT now, as long as they are amber in colour, either side of the rear light, can both be seen from the back of the bike, are not obscured by other lights (like the usual integrated rear light/indicators are) and flash between 60-120 hertz, they SHOULD pass.

Have a read of THIS to find out what will and won't pass (and how much of it is down to the tester's interpretation of the rules!).

True but that's only part of the story - the separation is part of the construction and use regulations and you could still get pulled on that basis (though probably unlikely). Passing an MOT is no guarantee that it meets all regulations.

...... errrr no ...... they would be flashing 60 times too quickly... the regulation is 60-120 flashes per minute
