Good guesses, but no cigar yet. How's this for a final clue: The manufacturer's name starts with a "Z". Ya gotta get it now.
BTW, I do have all the sheet metal and the scooter looks a lot like "the guesses" that have been made.

WE have a WINNER! Circa 1956 Model 201. You'd get a cigar, but I don't smoke. :-) Here's what it looked like new.I may stick to this color or go with the orange version to match my 1974 BMW 2002tii.

wow, beautiful. I always love the oldie look.
Be interesting to hear how it rides compared to a more modern 200.
Was it in running condition whenyou got ahold of it?
No. I bought it "Barn fresh" The engine does turn over. It's a heavy beast and has an elaborate suspension front and rear, so I'm thinking it will be quite "plush" on the road. The rear has coil springs on both sides with a single small shock absorber. The front has a single massive aluminum clad shock absorber mounted in an unusual way.
That is absolutely fab. Keep us posted on the project!

2001 Scarabeo 150 - "El Pavo"
It'll certainly be more involved than the last project which was merely painting my Sport City from gray to "Yellow Line". Thanks for the interest. These old scooters deserve to be preserved and brought back whenever possible, I think.
Update!!!!!
After researching, if I want to rebuild the old engine head, I might spend the same $$$ as buying new engine head for my beo. I'm thinking Malossi head kit right now. Everyone know where can I order the Malossi head for Beo 150 in the US. There are few websites that has it, but it is in U.K

I doubt you ll find it in stock in USA not alot of rotax 150's here not much to thee head making sure its flat and the valves seal shouldnt be more than a few hrs shop labour prolly no parts cept the cam follower or w/e broke Youve to weigh options realistically not alot to be gained W just a aftermarket Head without the Jug or intake or exhaust youve just parts..Build a tweaked hi stress rotax and you ll be rewarded with hi dollar and frequent repair bills
Thanks Tomd, yes you hit it right on the head. I think I will trying my best to rebuild this Rotax engine.
UPDATE:
I was still trying to rebuilt the old engine head, then got a GREAT deal from TOMD---MANY THANKS. My BEO will be back on street soon.
In the mean time: I just replaced brake pads, right brake master cylinder (the old one leak, not give enough pressure).
