Setting 3 is almost no wheelie at all..I would recommend atleast setting 2 for beginners so you get some feeling .

I am interested to know Micke, (my Tuono has 250kms on it, got it 2 days ago so can't test this yet) on setting 1 (the least intrusive) did the front wheel come down because you eased off the gas slightly, or was it automatic after say 2 seconds.

Thanks for the video though, really interesting.
I can feel the elctronics cutting down the engine in pulses .. dont know if you can hear it on the Vid..

From what i remember so did i an short twist and when awc cuts in i might have turned down trottle a bit but i think not

All attempts was in 2 gear with no clutch except the one when i passed a car on third gear with clutch ..

Hey Rayzor, will it hold it up in the air for a wheelie? Or does it drop you straight back down?

And how do the different levels differ?
For me, I go up as usual, maybe a foot or two, then it drops it voilently (like the rear brake was applied); enough to smash your ballz if your underwear isn't tight. Since the suspension is tighter then most bikes, it hits hard. On my Triumph Speed Triples, it was like ballett on one wheel whenever you gave it some throttle....

...whats easier is cresting the top of a crown in the road and giving gas; lets you wheelie down the back side of the crown without drama (ALWAYS COVER THE REAR BRAKE WHEN ATTEMPTING ANY ONE WHEEL TRICK)

Thanks Mick, that was great! I'm sure that will be a YOU TUBE sensation! (watch how many hits you get on that)

After seeing this video, I am convinced I am pushing the bike beyond what it was designed to do. The whole purpose is to maintain control and I'm trying to do the opposite. Try ATC OFF and AWC OFF, I'm talking 50-60 % vertical and going several hundred feet. However, when not experimenting, I find myself always riding in "SPORT" 3. Thats my comfort zone.

By the way, when you stopped to change the setting; you dont have to enter the MENU screen to make changes. I dont know how you're doing it but if you thumb over to the Track screen and dab the botton, the Wheelie and launch screen appears right-away and then you use the +/- button to change the AWC setting and go back to the regular road screen within seconds. You dont have to change setting thru the MENU screen. FYI.....

In the real world, our bikes are better equiped to go faster by maintaining more contact with the road. Aprilia accomplished what they set out to do! A contradiction to that is LAUNCH control temporarily disables AWC to allow the bike to lift a little during take-off (ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL). Can anyone explain that?

the system works ..end of...went for a play on some tasty back roads and the system allows full throttle cresting without any fear of flipping...best bike i've ever had for back road antics.
The combination of AWC and TCS does have a downside......it eats tyres...dumped the original tyres and after only 200 miles the replacement scrubbed trackday tyres are almost half done...the drive off bends with sticky tyres is more aggressive than any road bike I can think off and having owned a Busa,Bking and ZZR its nice to be able to properly use a bikes power.

Out for a ride the other day and decided to try and see if I could get the front end up in 3rd under power only with traction control on 2 and wheelie control on lowest setting. Cycle world stated a 90 degree wheelie on power only at 90 mph. So I was a little reserved trying it but at around 80 in 3rd, I snapped the throttle closed and on and it came up about a foot or so. I will have to try a few more times, but I don't want to do 90 degree wheelie ever!!! Balance wheelies are not my cup of tea, just power ones. in second it comes up very easy and high with wheelie control on if you are to aggressive with the throttle.

On the RSV4 AWC at 3 seems to limit the power, I had the race ecu fitted and myself and the dealer forgot to turn the AWC back on, theres a nice little rise on one of my routes that normally results in a nicely controlled (by the aprc) wheelie probably a foot or so high, 50ish feet long and 3 figures on the speedo, with the AWC off it turned into a much higher affair than I was expecting! JFI and from the handbook if the TC number is positive AWC is off, if the TC number is in a little black box AWC is on..........................I'll remember that one now

I'm still getting off on the fact that the nose rises every time I open her up in 1, 2 or 3... only to stay hovering above the tarmac by an inch or 2 for a few moments before softly touching down again...

There is 1 or 2 spots on my normal blast route that induce WILD wheelies if not handled correctly. One is a stop light take-off over a main road which rises in the middle of the road. If you really open her up from green in 1st, the nose goes really skyward (No launch control). I usually find myself backing-off before the electronics sort it all out. The second is an underpass under the railway. The drop-off is abrupt and again causes wild nose lifting... but this one gets sorted by the electronics before I react.
