the carb is killing my after 5th gear issues among other items, cdi and newer plugs either 10egv or 11. Ibought this bike for 800 dollars and 450 to deliver it from texas it a 97 though so older style single swing but i love it so far. listen to Patrick I have done everything he has said to get things sorted out and saved me tons of time.
www.racingplanetusa.com (dont let the name confuse you, its actualy a german site, hence everythings translate by google)
They got some cheap cranks wich might be reinforced on the flywheelside, but with the info i cant find out much, the Top Racing crank, the more expensive one of the 2, could be what you want, but they list normal bearings for it and dont mention its thicker on the flywheel side... so no way for me to be sure.
Here is a bit of info from another site about the Top Racing crank:

the top crank is a doppler ER1 with a different finish right?

So I have two votes to skip the black and go with the pink. My thoughts were the two piston rings would be better for a street bike, and that the 80cc pink would need machine work to fit. Is that not the case?
I keep reading that the Airsal 70cc is fine on the factory crank, and that you can get away with running the factory carb and exhaust with it. Obviously you will pick up more power when you do those but you can get by without. What truth is there to that, and what sort of power should the 70cc net with a carb and exhaust?
My reasonable dream build so far is:
BBK - 75cc Top Performances black
Crank - Doppler Endurance
Carb - unknown size and brand
Clutch - Top Performance
Exhaust - unknown
CDI - Top Performances yellow?
If a chunk of money fell in my lap right now I'd buy all of the above from http://www.vsmotoparts.com . The exchange rate is in my favor right now, I can get all of those parts for less than an exhaust, and a bbk here Stateside.
Unfortunately my budget is tight right now so I'll either have to wait until the end of the year or so, or buy it in chunks. I'd like to buy whatever will give me the most bang for the buck, people usually go for a pipe first, maybe a carb. Would I not get better results with a bbk, carb, and clutch springs?
If the bbk is going to kill the crank can I get away with not buying the carb and get the crank instead? I realize I won't be getting the most from the kit, the question is it possible to run it on the factory pipe, maybe the factory carb, and see more gains than the pipe and carb on the stock 50cc setup?
My goal here is a streetable bike, used on the weekends for joy rides and to commute to work when the weather is fair. I'll likely keep it geared to go 60-65 but I want to get there quickly.
pink top performance kit, 80cc doesnt need work to fit (p.s its actually 75cc..)
the black top performance kit 75cc i actually 73cc i think
if i remember rightly patrick has a crank or two which snapped on the black top perfomance kit but might be wrong
if it was me id advise this set up
pink top 75cc kit
upgraded clutch
doppler ER1 crank
21mm carb - or 24 if you really want performance
gianelli exhaust
0.35mm reeds
yellow top cdi

I'm seriously considering doing something like this, as I have access to, and know how to use, a TIG:
http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...85-Engine-swap
that would be good also
Yz 85 engine is quiete aggressive, packs a bit of a punch so that wud be good
Cr 85 engine is also good too very high reving
kx 85 iv dont know how the engines perform but apperently there good fun too
personally id got for Yz or CR

Yeah, that is one of the hitching points. I've been combing forums trying to gauge how many hours you can get out of the sub 100cc Motocross bikes.
Of course there is no way to determine from the internet how well one of these engines will do in a street bike as far as driveability goes.
I"m going to bite the bullet and order an exhaust from AF1 tomorrow (I feel I need to support them for hosting this forum), I'm leaning towards the Arrow as it gives up little under the curve compared to the stocker, while the Leo loses under 9k. Should I buy some jets for the OEM carb, if so what are a few that will get me in the ballpark?
Got a bit of 4 stroking on the way into work this morning. I'm going to pull apart the carb soon to verify the jetting.
