    Front brake mod

I recently upgraded my front brake setup. Here's my recipe

    Ingredients

    aluminium brackets

Brembo Triple Bridge four pad calipers from a Ducati 999

stainless steel flanged bolts from pro-bolt

    Directions
Remove old calipers. Install brackets and new calipers. Tighten bolts. Bleed brakes.

    Result

Wow ...very nice , where did you get the brackets from and are these brakes a big improvement , also how do the forks cope with these much stronger brakes , i guess it would prob be neccesary to stiffen up the front end a tad .

Stopping power is much better now (mind I don't do off road...). I have Wirth fork springs fitted and that's a benefit with this mod. Master cylinder is the standard one and don't plan to change it, as the feeling is very good with less pressure required on the brake lever. ABS works as well as before.

    Here the shopping list:
    ergal brakets 60€ (AOTR forum)
    calipers 170€ (ebay)
    bolts 33€ (pro-bolt)
    nuts 6€ (ebay)

with shippings it was around 300€

Problem here is to find the brackets... they were made by a friend of italian AOTR forum (see my signature) a few months ago.
I could ask if a new production is planned in the near future... I suppose he needs at least 5 pair of brackets to start a new one, dunno

These brakes that you used from a Ducati 999 , are they same spec/size as the older type gold line Aprilia Brembos , they do look the same .

Those brakets are too expensive IMHO, and calipers are 4 pads brembo with same power as mine... just bigger, and again more expensive! and why a radial caliper when the fork doesn't support it?
Plus I don't like yellow on my bike

Brucaliffo, once again you have some sweet mods on your machine!
Like the brakes very much, some improvement for sure. That is a good value way of getting serious stoppers.

You could fit the earlier two pad gold brembos on that bracket but you would need to change your lines as the banjo angle is different.

Im a fan of these calipers as pads seem cheaper and i find them easier to service, but those the tri bridge ones should be more rigid and give more bite with all that pad edge.
Im not an engineer (or anything like one so forgive the question please) but the single plane the brackets have require the use of the bolts whereas the offset 'Z' shape

You're right, these brackets are more expensive, but I bought the calipers incl bolts, bleeding nipples and the original Brembo brake-pads for 199€ incl shipping.
They came from a wrecked MV Agusta Brutale R with only 2000km on the clock. Not such a bad deal IMO,...

BTW, I love my big golden calipers!

a good bargain! I still don't like them, but there are many guys on the italian forum who mount them and are satisfied
