restricting to Factory setting and Question ??

    Hi all

I Live in Denmark and I recently got caught by the poooolice and now have to pay a fine equivelant to 700 usd because my aprilia sr 50 factory ran 65 km/h.

Now as this is more than half of what i paid for the bike used, I´ve now decieded to restrict the scooter to fit the laws here in Dk wich is about 45 - 50 km/h

I have bought the correct variator tool, a standard speed limiter "ring", new rollers (malossi 6.5 g), new stock spring, new malossi special belt and some mrg grease for the rollers.

Now I have following questions :

    1. Do I have to recode the ecu to "standard" or whatever after reinstalling the speed limiter "ring" ?
    2. My aprilia is the one with the piaggo engine ( aprilia sr 50 r factory from december 2004 ), do i need to use the grease for the rollers with this engine ?
    3. where is the "ring" supposed to be fitted ?

Hope there is some one who can help, as this is my first attempt on this

1.recode the ecu to standard as it will alter the map so it will receive less fuel
    2.Dont use grease

IMO you shouldn't restrict your ECU since that will not do anything good... Restrict the speed by the variator spacer as you are going to do!

try it first with the variator spacer and if you go more than 45 which i assume that you will you can try to find someone with gameboy since the gameboy will restrict the higher range of rpm to be available because it will add less fuel so probably you could set it 45 or something close, maybe you can solve that with heavier rollers like stock i dont know how many grams they are ive read somewhere that they where 11g which i think is way to heavy....
Its very strict in Denmark as we are all trying to make them faster your situation is completely opposite
with ditech is much harder to limit it as its electronics and with carbed its so easy you just buy rpm limiter, maybe you could somehow limit the TPS not to open fully like adding some metal or rubber on the fixed or the moving part but you will sacrifice the acceleration allot......
i found this picture on google anyway where the red pointer is you could glue some rubber there so you would limit the throttle but dont overdo because you could make it very very slow and the yellow arrow is the moving part who will touch the rubber........
try it maybe it will solve everything if none of the above will give you 45

"There is something wrong in the state of Denmark" ....the laws with 45 mopeds here are ridiculos.

I am, as I write this, putting in the ring and changing belt and rollers.....

If it don´t go to 45, I will try to find a dealer or a gameboy and re-program...

Thanks again for your help !
