    help! :( aprilia rs50

i have an aprilia rs50 2010 and it needs a lot of work doing to it and i don't know where to start.

since i have had it, it nevers starts off the ignition and i have to bump start it.

also it doesn't have any fairings.

the chain and exhaust are rusting and overall it doesnt look good.

the key has been lost so the ignition has been snapped so there are no electrics or stealing lock.

i dont know a great deal about bikes and im struggling with what to do.

i don't know weather its worth getting it fixed? or to just get rid of it?

i need some serious help :L

    would be much appreciated!!!!

Some pictures might help (and this is probably in the wrong section) but I'll give this a shot anyway.

The starting thing may be electrical or a bad starter. Bump starting these bikes isn't nearly as hard as it should be.

Fairings are mainly cosmetic. There may be some aerodynamic affect at higher speeds but if you don't care about how it looks, don't worry about it.

The chain can be replaced for about $20. You should replace both sprockets at the same time and the snap ring that holds the front one on. That should be about $100 all together. A rusted exhaust should be replaced with a better performing exhaust anyway but as long as the rust hasn't made any holes, it shouldn't affect performance. You can paint over it with some high temp black spray paint to make it look nice again.

If you don't have a key, how do you put fuel in it? The ignition lock can be bypassed with some clever re-wiring. The lock can be replaced but it depends how badly you "snapped" the lock.

Overall, it sounds pretty shitty considering it's a 2010. It didn't get much love in it's two years of life. If you like bikes and already own this one, start this as a long term project with one problem at a time and post pictures. The forum community is very helpful for this stuff and can walk you through most repair/upgrade situations. On the other hand, if you're just some jerk-off who picked up a bike on the cheap and has no ambition for turning a wrench to fix something, I'll gladly trade you a case of beer for your unfortunate 2-wheeled death trap.
    Ringa-ding-ding-ding! 2-strokes kick ass!!!
