If Pirelli was offering intermediates and nobody wanted them I find it difficult to blame them. Secondly, what exactly was wrong with Sylvian's bike? Was it caused by the delay? If enough riders feel the conditions are too dangerous to race you can't fault the WSBK organizors for halting it. The riders should be the ones to make that call.

If the riders have the option of intermediates but chose not to run them there must be a very good reason why as they're always going to be seeking for the solution that gives them the best chance in a race........I'd rather trust the decision of the riders that are risking their lives at 200+ mph than that of Pirelli corporate PR spin.
Monza is pretty unique with its 2 long high speed straights, Pirelli didn't have a tyre at the track capable of handling the conditions safely, they do manufacture a special tyre for such conditions (NW200) so its not as if they're incapable, the weather forecast gave them fair warning, the company is based in the vicinity, I can't see any reasonable excuse for them not being properly prepared.....

    Whew!
I just watched SuperSport. Way too exciting for all the wrong reasons. All those front end tucks going into Ascarii were just scary.
That crash by the South African Kawi rider was just nasty!! He had some big balls trying to get the bike back up.
And I know now what colors and number the Russian Ianovov wears!!
Then I turned to Race One. They played Assen due to the cancelation. Looks like Speed did the right thing by playing an alternate.
So I did catch SuperBike Race Two. Short and sweet.
Better spectating than the Estoril MotoGP but not as entertaining as Moto2.

I don't think the race organisers had any option but to cancel. If the intermediate tyres can't manage even 3 laps before delaminating then they aren't fit for purpose. You can bet that underneath the show of solidarity somebody is having a proper bollocking over this.
