Need replacement mirrors for my 04 S500.

I figured I would unstick my rusted mirrors. I currently have them off the bike with the bases soaking in PB Blaster to see if I can get the adjustment working again.

Feeling those will not be functional again I'm looking for some new ones.

    Will these work?

I did some searching. I was unaware of the differences in threads so the pair noted above will not work. I do have a Yamaha dealer in town and according to a few posts on here and some mirror ads they have the same thread pattern as we do. I'll post up what I find at the dealer.

on mine the bottom connection of the stem was a compression fit - not threads - about .4 inches diameter I think. A threaded stem would fit in there and work if it was the same size. (I threaded my first attempt at new stems, before I discovered it wasn't threaded but a squeezy deal - luckily the od of the threads was correct and the compression worked fine)

I posted a thread on this a few years back. Our bikes take a 10 mm left and right thread mirror set. The same as used by many, if not all, Yamahas.

the stems on my 2004 s500 are both threaded the same where the mirrors attach and the bottom of the stems is a round compression fit affair - or mine was any way.

Thanks Bill. I found them and contacted the seller. I'm going to swing by the local shop to see what they have and then probably by the new ones off of e-bay.

I opted for a pair of black mirrors from the local MC dealer. Should be in later this week. $37 for the pair.

We noticed while looking through the parts catalog that some mfg's offer an adapter piece for opposite thread bikes.

I ordered mirrors with extended post so hopefully it will make them more functional.

    Pic's to come

New mirrors installed they're cheap and they're functional that's all I can ask for. Not bad looking either.

I was surprised when I went to pick them up when he handed me the bag there were 2 bubble wrapped packages containing 2 mirrors apiece.

The catalog didn't say pair/price so he assumed he needed to order 2. So thinking they were $37/pr ended up being around $18/pr.
