They are the same and make the rear brake usable.

Hey GUV,
Do these fit without adapters? Rizoma shows all sorts of adapters for various bikes, but not Aprilia. Don't know it that means adapters are not required, or they will not fit Aprilia.

Do the photo's answer your question, I would say that they are made this way to get the clearance required for the rear brake assembly, as you can see there still is not much clearance from the swingarm on both sides.
Hopefully some time soon they'll make a reverse shift for them too.
