Speed Channel Sucks

I dumped the NASCAR channel a long time ago for just this reason. Not giving one cent to yet more NASCANT stupidity.

Shit was weak. I waited around for the first race. When it didn't start, I just went for a quick ride. Caught the second race though. I just about canceled my cable over this. It's really the only reason I have cable anymore.

Yes it really does suck living over here. Too much $ invested in NASCAR. Its why I paid for subscription for MotoGP, too bad SBK didn't follow suit. I think BBC or Eurosport have them avail online, but your IP needs to be based in europe. I just try and hold off and wait till a torrent comes up, and watch the full race with no commercials.

I keep waiting for nascar to make their own channel like NFL, MLB, NBA, Golf, etc. already has. My hope would be that by doing so Speed TV will not have to cover it any more. Wishful thinking, I know...but at the very least hopefully their nascar ratings would drop due to the competition and they would be forced to broaden and balance their coverage at bit to attract more viewers.

There is a serious satellite/cable war brewing (ongoing?!) over who gets the rights to broadcast which content (and how much you get charged for said content). It's the greedy record/music industry all over again....if you don't offer the content to everyone at an amicable price, people are just say "fuck you" and bootleg it (Not that this is already occurring )

I've had it up to my ass in Nascar. I'm pissed speed doesn't broadcast European Speedway anymore. That is fun and exciting racing! It's almost like Fight Club comes to Motorcycling.

That seems pretty cool. If Speed channel would just devote themselves to covering motorsport (instead of those dumb shows that are always on--pinks, pass time, whatever) it would go along way to improve their image. I'd honestly rather watch a replay of british touring car from three weeks ago, or an wsbk race from 5 years ago, then one of those shows. Speed should just show racing all the time. I'd love it.

I recorded the replay of Assen Race 1 and I was actually able to watch what was scheduled to play!!!!!
Good race. Now that I was able to see what was supposed to be shown.
I hope someone from Speed is reading this board.

Just saw the race last night off the DVR.

Did anyone else find it unnecessary for speed to do a NASCAR recap during the first 20 laps or so of the race? I understand if there is a live NASCAR race as that gets more views for them. Hell show the recorded GP race at 1am on Sundays. I don't give a fly'n F but don't have me set my DVR to find a 30 minute recap, of a Moonshiner's great great grandson going in circles in a race that has already been watched for the last 3 hours.
