yes the ngk ends are supression ends, ohm your old one you should be able to get a close enough reading, i'm pretty sure 5k is ok,,,,the question is do you have stock or aftermarket wire.....stock will have the supressor end that unscrews from the wire.....non stock will be like an old car, just a rubber boot over the terminal end....i have used the NGK as replacements on other makes in the past, should be ok here as long as your clearances are ok. lest us know.

Thanks for all the input. The boot should be in tomorrow, I'll be taking a look at it on thursday afternoon so thanks for letting me know what to look for. Every little bit helps. I silicon'd the boot back together and the spark was still arcing out so I wrapped it with electrical take on the outside of the repaired boot to last me till I can replace it; Hopefully all will go well on thursday. I'm going to replace all the spark plugs too on thursday.

Having been suckered into buying the "evo" wires, they are most assuredly just automotive wires.. Not sure what the automotive fitment is though.

I ordered that ngk plug cap, it's hard plastic and was too wide(thick). It wouldn't fit all the way down in the groove of the (head?) so I just re-taped the old boot with electrical tape and actually forgot about it till now. I decided to check the other plug wires on the throttle side of the engine and the plug boot on the plug towards the headlight wasn't snapped all the way on. So, I taped up that boot and made sure it was all the way on this time, there was a significant "snap" sound/feel when I put it on this time. Haven't had much problems since. I had a little bit of surging around 4700 rpm, so I put in some injector cleaner. It made a big difference, but it's still in the tank. Once I burn it all out and run it on straight 91 octane only, I'll know if it really did the job.
