I've owned three Aprilia big twins, and can honestly say design wise Aprilia got the looks and shape of the Gen 1 Tuono perfect. I've owned 2nd Gen and it just did not do it for me. My advice is buy a "R" Racing or Factory model now! while you can get them cheap.
The strips in that picture are perfectly reasonable for a street bike that also sees a lot of straight up and down commuter duty.But don't let the lighting on the shoulder fool you, they're down to nearly the bottom of the outside tread line.
And frankly, every chick I've met that even knows what a chicken strip is comes with hairy legs by default.
