    Handlebar end weight internals

Hi guys, my right handle bar weight went missing and it's annoying only having one. I looked at the end of the bars and it looks like internal assembly is welded in so I can only buy genuine end weights or weights with m5 thread(which I can't find) . So is there any way of removing this internal assembly and fitting some quality end weights ?

Everyone crashes.. Some get back on , others don't, Some cannot....

The original weights are "weights" for a reason, but if you want to fit others dont you thing its better to cut the bit of the weight that normaly goes into the handlebar? i mean after market aluminuim weights are just a few bucks, but the handle bars them selfs are not so cheap.

Dude, what du you think is easier and safer? cutting away some plastick and a bit of aluminium of the after market weight, or drilling and grinding away an extremly hard steel weld and making it perfectly smooth and round to the exact diameter of the handlebar so you can stick the after market weight in there?

Just saw the back of the after market weight and screw it in place of the original ones and your done, cant be easier.

There weight helps stabilize the steering in fast corners.

dont know... you notice it but not at the kind of speeds these bikes are designed to go

Would really have to push the bike to itts limits at speed trough some twisties or a long flat corner to notice it.

Keep in mind these bikes are light, and a little bump in a corner can mean big trouble, so every little bit of help you got to stabilize it helps.

drill it out and stick new ones in use a tiny drill bit in the centre and go up a size and up a size and basically stretch the hole, then the broken off thread will crumble and you wont have to re-thread the threads then , just fit new bolts

the weights only help with vibration.

the dont do anything to assist the bike. ever seen them on a race bike? if they were needed for high speed riding you wouldnt just find them on street bikes. i recently just swapped out the stock clip ons for aftermarket. there are no wights in the ends of an aftermarket bar.

Race bikes got a Stearing dampner.

There are no weights in the ends of a Stock handlebar also doesnt mean that you cant fit them.

I ran mine with out the bar ends as i was respraying them because they where all scratched from wen someone ran me of the bike, putting my bike aiganst the wall wen working on it etc.
Its not a huge difrence but i think it was noticable, but might have been in my head.

One thing is for sure, i got a pair of new handlebars and weights and the weights go on after i rebuild and lightened the bike as much as i can.
