Not sure what you are talking about however if you have a new "O" ring you shouldn't need any other type of sealant. Just a very thin film of rubber grease (or vaseline) if anything.

You need a thin film on both mating faces and allow it to go tacky before assembly. Wont do any harm if it gets on the O ring BTW
