2007 Agusta F4 Decal Question (also a WTB)

    Friends
I am in the market for a used F4 and love the more traditional red/silver combo. The best paint year for me is 2006 but I ran accross this used 2007 model and have a question for you since I can't see the bike in person.

Are the decals on the silver lower over or under the clear coat? If over, I assume they come right off. If not, I would have to take them off and then re-clear coat the fairing.

Also, does anyone make a hard cowling to replace the rear pillion seat? I would like the flexibility of having a soft seat for a tail bag, but when there is no need for that, I would like to slap on a matching plastic cover (like most Aprilia's RSVR years).

    Thanks.

One other question on the same decals. Just above the 'F4' decal on the front of the side fairing, is a red strip that is not there on the 2006. Is that paint or a part of the 'F4' decal?

    Thanks

    Hi Somberman001,

I'm pretty certain that all the decals on the MV have clearcoat over them. All of them do on my '05 F4 1000 S, and when shopping I looked at a couple of '07s.

Like you it sounds, I didn't see the point of the "1+1" model with a pillion seat. I looked for an insert to at least replace the seat, and found only one available. It's made by (or made for?) a fellow on the east coast that is heavy into MVs. His seller name on eBay and screen name on mvagusta.net is CAG. You should be able to find his new and used parts on eBay, and the insert, made from carbon fiber, is usually there also. In the end, I decided I liked the mono posto look so well I didn't want the 1+1, and found my '05 back in February with 339 miles on it for a decent price. It's a red/silver one.

As for that red stripe, I'm less sure but think it's part of the decal.

Have you ridden one? Thoughts? PM me if you want to chat about them. I'm still learning about mine, and like it but haven't warmed up to it yet to be honest.
