    Futura backrest fab

Just contacted these guys today, and I'm about to launch on a backrest project. I'll get the seat and attached support bar from them and fabricate the on-bike receiver. I'll add posts as I make progress.

Is their backrest $375 without the rack, or is that for both? If so, what do they charge for just the backrest?

The company says "around $100 less for just the backrest and steel bar that it's attached to". The problem is that they buy the bars pre-bent, and they all bend backwards. I'm going to get stainless bar stock the same dimensions as theirs and after figuring out the receiver, send it to be mounted to their backrest. Jerry - the owner - seems ok with this and if there is enough interest we may be able to swing a better deal. I'll keep this thread updated as I make progress. I'm shooting to have the receiver rough fab'd this coming week.

My Futura came with a bracket made to accept a Corbin backrest. Nice setup. Not sure who made the bracket?

Got the bar (backrest post) dimensions today along with the hole pattern and will hopefully start on the receiver bracket tomorrow or Thursday. Work is gonna stop getting in the way of my tinkering when I win the lotto...

My Futura used to have this on it. The seller mentioned someone on this board was making them? I didn't like the way it looked, and didn't want to spend the additional $250 he wanted for it so I left it with him.

I've been crushed at work and finally got the rest/mount welded. I'll try to get some photos up soon.
