manifold help

hi just finding my feet with the rs 50 i have got a 21mm phbg cs delloroto carb kit and the manifold is not the same its just a straight manifold with no pipes to it not like the old one on that has two pipes on it. iam not fitting it yet as i have other parts on order but a some help would be great thanks

i take it your fitting the carb now?
when changing to a different carb you will need to change the inlet manifold, BUT sounds like the kit doesnt fit your bike

them to pipes/hoses are coolant hoses and stop the carb freezing up and or heat the fuel SLIGHTLY so they are needed

pictures of the parts and bike would help alot

also what is the rest of your set up? 50cc stock cylinder or 70/80cc bore kit? ect

iam not fitting it at the mo as still waiting on parts ie a 70cc kit new clutch reeds . so can i use the manifold thats on there as it will fit as the pipe is the same size as the one thats on there just the one one there is diffrent thats all.

ah that explains why your after a 21mm carb .........

right ... so theres only one male slot for the hose to go over?
your proberbly gonna need a new manifold as there is TWO hoses which mount onto the inlet manifold which are full of coolant so if you can only mount one then i dont know what your gonna do with the other lose pipe

The 2 pipes on top of the stock manifold conect to the cilinderhead on one side and on the other it goes to the cooland tube coming from the rad to the pump, you can just conect the tube from the head straight to the tube bypassing it and fitting an other manifold and carburetor.
On some carbs theres a build in heating circuit, or you can bolt a copper part to the carb where the cooling fluid runs trough, but it depents on the climate and weather ypou drive in, carbs only freeze just above freezing wen theres a lot of mosture in the air that condonsates onto the cold aluminium inside of the carb.

If you had a SHA carb you need a Manifold and an Adaptor for the Stock Airbox wen you fit a difrent carb.
