When they replaced mine, they said they replaced it with a new part number. Which tells me it's a known, common problem. Common enough for Aprilia to discontinue manufacturing it the same way and to create a new piece, but not common enough to cause a recall. Ask your dealer about this new part number for the repair.
I've heard of aprilia covering somethings post warrantee. Appears a enthuasiast dealer willing to work with Italy can get things done.
Is this the air pressure sensor? (638562) Appears it could be a side of the road swap? Maybe grab a spare for touring.

Just picked up an air pressure sensor from xa-mont. He had a spare from a Tuono wreck he had bought.
It's a bosch unit so deffo not the same as the OEM sensor on the Dorso but may do the job. As I previously
said, the dealer has the part on order so I'll drop this off to them and hopefully it'll fast track the repair.
I thought the originals were Bosch?from what I can gather all relays are you can bet the tuono one will be the same.waiting with baited breath.
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure?.
Oh, and I just got a response from Aprilia Australia in regards to my warranty enquiry.
They have told me that they can't promise anything just yet but will be contacting the
service agent to ascertain what the problem is and will take it from there. At this stage
I'm happy with that.

to do with the AIT mod which I have temporally taken off the bike. Those OEM connectors you sent me were great by the way.

Yes that's it and I guess you could change it out on the side of the road but it wouldn't be a quick repair.
Side covers, gas tank and air box cover needs to be removed.
I have the newer design and it's made by Bosch, but not very comforting seeing it's made in China.
