Post REVIEW: Aftermarket Fairings ''Parts for Bikes Hong Kong'' Pics/Pros/Cons

    Hey Fellow RS riders

as many of you know I recently Purchased Aftermarket Fairings to replace Damaged Original Parts...Ideal if your on a Budget, After 1Month and One Week they finally arrived! and well to sum it up in one word... AWESOME!
Here is my Review on my Purchase from start to finish with a score.

    the item
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/ABS-bodywork...91795978114847

    Packaging
Once your Parcel arrives at your door, you will find a mountain of Bubblewrap(Everyone loves Bubblewrap) once you finally unbox and unpack everything & Foam Packageing. After traveling 1000 Miles, the box and the contence was in brilliant condition, Perfectly Wrapped, and very Secure! Exciteing as you may be...I did find that the front unit did feel very weak and flimsy, not untill i fitted the Lights, Bubble, and to the bike did it feel taught and strong.

    9/10

    Fitting
Now with Many people claiming that ''Aftermarket fairings are a poor fit and never allign right'' These fitted Perfect!!!, I managed to fit mine in around 1:30hrs, there so Eazy to fit even granma could fit them...
im not picky all the time but they do claim ''all wholes are pre-drilled''....i found from my experence some wholes have been missed, (Indicators, Back of Tank, Bellypan), and also the Scoop panels appear difficult to fit (i gave up,i was prob doing something wrong),

    7/10

    Aesphetics
First thing Me and My friends said after fitting was...SHES BEAUTIFULL...As soon as you finished all the fitting you will have a big surge of pride, I bet youll have a big smile on your face, you'll fall in love with the bike you have, the Attention to detail is unbeliveable, every little segment from the REAL FAIRINGS is reflected onto something alot cheaper for the same WOAH factor...The bike looks like a bike again, (if i sound enthusiastic you get the idea of how awesome this really is .
To nit Pick...there was some areas of the bike where the Due care and attention could of been better, Some areas look rushed, but do remember they are made to order so your experience may differ, the Baffle Fairing on the right side had bit of paint run that had dried, and the Head unit had a line that stepped out a bit, all aside...

    9/10

    OVERALL
So..the big question...are these worth the money?

    My experience....Yes, every penny. why?
    • CHEAPER THEN OEM
    • WHOLE SET/REPLACE'S EVERY PLASTIC PART(if u want to)
    • LOOKS GREAT
    • THEY TAKE CUSTOM DESIGNS
    • WELL PACKAGED
    • GOOD QUALITY

    OVERALL SCORE
    8/10

    Some Snaps.
p.s. i know i have a rusty chain im onnit!

    IMPORTANT!
i would like to disclose that i am NOT an Employee of ''Parts4Bikes HK'' and that there is a factor your experience MAY DIFFER as all Parts are MADE TO ORDER, 9/10 You will Recive GOOD Parts!
ALSO I AM NOT ADVERTISEING THESES PRODUCTS THIS IS A REVIEW BASED ON MY CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.

    Thanks for Reading.
    safe rideing.

Looks Great! Waiting for mine to arrive. I ordered about a week after you. I also live another 1000 miles plus farther here in the center of the USA. I ordered the same set as you. Good to hear the fitting was not too hard. My bike is a 2009 " Spains No.1 " I ride my bike on the street and it has around 5000 miles. So far I have not touched anything on the engine. It still has the original spark plug. Since the bike came new already( sold here new in the USA as a racebike) unrestricted I have changed nothing but the small pilot jet in the carb. I want to put these cheaper body parts on to proteck my Spain Set for a while. I hope my set shows up soon. Thanks for posting the pictures!

My fairing set arrived here in Southern ILL on friday April 20th. I ordered the set fon Ebay on March 7th. I ordered the Alitalia airlines set also. Here is my experience. First of all they are inexpensine $379.00 plus shipping for the complete 16 piece set. I want to convert my 2009 Spains No.1 to the Alitalia set for a while. The box arrived at my post office and the mailman just left a notice in my mailbox to pick it up at the post office as it was way to big for him to deliver. The box is huge 37" x20" X 20" . My box arrived in great condition. Every piece was foam wrapped and taped. I unwraped each piece and inspected. My paintwork and decals were perfect, no runs and all clear coated and looked very factory as far as the paint. I started taking off the Spains body work and soon had the bike stripped. I cleaned the power valve as it had never been cleaned. I had a little diffuculty getting the valve out but a little PB blaster loosened it up.
I did the tail section first no real problems all holes were drilled and I used the metal screw clips from my Spains set. Next I worked on the side fairings. They come with no metal heat shield insultion on the bottoms around the exhaust pipe. First trip to Lowes Hdwe. I found the exact same material with the foil on one side then thin foam then self adhesive on the other. It costs $20.00 and was in the heating ductwork dept. The product was called Self adhesive foil and foam Duct insulation. it is made by Frost King. I made a patern from my Spains set and cut it with scissors and pressed it in place. Looks great just like the Spains set. This insulation is very important it keeps the exhaust from melting the lowers.
Next I tried to find some half inch foam material to line the side fairings on the inside just like the Spain set. Couldnt really find anything local so i remembered the thin foam pads they sell to put under your sleeping bag when hiking. Walmart had these and just the right thickness and only cost $7.00 . Again made a pattern and cut out with scissors. I used spray adhesive to glue the foam in. You spray both the fairing and the foam then stick together. turned out good!.
Next I put on the lowers and the side fairings. Again I used the screw clips from the Spains set. So far not to hard, I did have to drill the holes to mount the front signals. There was also some drilling to mount the small black panels that fit onto the side fairings and hug along the gastank and frame.
Now things got a little harder the upper fairing that the headlights and mirrirs mount to is different. My spains bikes used all screw clips, where this set has no place for the screw clips. You just have posts that are pre drilled for screws. Back to Sears Hardware as they have the best metric screw and bolt assortment. You must get the exact correct size and lenth of screws as to not break the screw posts. i found this part the most difficult. I spent a couple hours in fittment and fiddling. Finally I had the fairings done and every screw in place. Not near as easy as the original fairings but can be done.
Last the gas tank cover. A few problems here getting the gas cap to set down into the cover. Wound up using the dremel tool with a sanding drum to remove some excess plastic from the mold so the gas cap would seat correctly. Also the rear large bolt that holds the tank in place under the seat is different. You can not use the rubber bushings the Spain set has. I made some spacers from a Nylon bushing that I bought at Sears Hdwe and got it mounted about a hour and half fitting the gas tank cover.
Over all it looks great and could pass for a factory set but the fitment does require time and effort. Overall considering the price I think it is a good deal. The decals really look great. I did get every piece installed and every screw, but some were tough. Also the top two screws on the windshield did not line up . I drilled two new screw holes in the windshield. You cant see the old holes as they are under the fairing lip.
I think the set is slightly thinner but I did not measure it. The paint is not the Epoxey hard type the Spains set has. The paint is softer and will scratch easier. But the quality of the paint work at least on my set was top notch. Name: 002.JPG

They are computer cut decals then clear coated over. They really do look factory produced. I rate the decals at a 10!

[QUOTE=yl1;3095545] First of all they are inexpensine $379.00 plus shipping for the complete 16 piece set.

$379 is cheap until you add the $220 for shipping so its $600 total and 6 weeks before they arrive. Still seems like a decent deal so i will be ordering mine soon. I was going to get the Alitalia set until i saw how good Wishmaster Fiat set looks so im gunna go with that instead. Thank you guys for the reviews and pics, defenitely helped me decide to buy a set.

I just got a picture of my set and I'm getting excited. I'm getting it as track bodywork so no headlight or brake light cut outs.
