Roku, did you notice any difference with speedo? I'm putting new wheels on soon and figured I'd put on the 42 sprocket at the same time. Thanks

Lanter, I haven`t tested it but I expect the speedo and odometer showing 5% higher values now (42/40). That`s the case when speed is calculated by rpm of the gearbox output shaft. In case speed calculation is based on the ABS sensor it wouldn`t affect speed numbers. I guess the first case more likely.

Isnt the speedo on the rear wheel hub? If so there won't be a change in speeds when regearing...

Your right. My Dorso has ABS so I´m not sure whether the ABS sensor is used for the speed indicator or if the hall sensor located on the gearbox output shaft does the job (illustratetd in the garage manual)? Are there any Dorsos out there without ABS but a sensor on the back or front wheel? If so then it`s clearly for speed indication also on my Dorso.

Ok, so if I have the non abs, then speed/mil won't change after 42 swap?

Hey Lanter, G'day from Australia. Have you fitted the 42 tooth rear ? What do you think of it ? I looked into the sensor on the rear wheel and your speedo will only change if you go with a different size rear wheel /tyre than standard. Has your fuel consumption taken a dive ? Cheers, Chewy.

How did it go? I was also looking at lighter rims, which ones have you decided on? Personally I thought the Carro V tracks look damn good.

I bought a used pair of the new aprilia three spoke wheels, off a fellow forum member and the wheels are getting sprayed whine red. I'm also having the yellow spring sprayed the same color to match the wheels. They're not as light as the Carro's, but I think about 5 to 6Lbs lighter then the stock 2011 wheels. I'll post some pics soon as I get them back.
