Mana $5,999 offer and set-up fee.

    Hey guys,

Like some others I'm giving some serious thought about picking up an 09 Mana for the $5,999 deal. What kind of setup and freight fee's should I expect? Today my local dealer quoted a ridiculous OTD price(which included sales tax and tag transfer)of $7500.

Does Aprilia already pay the dealer to setup a bike? Also, does aprilia pay shipping to the dealer or is this passed onto the customer?

    Thanks in advance.

    Craig

I called a few places before I found this low mileage used one I just bought. I was quoted $540 from one place and $800 from another (plus tax and license).

Try contacting the AF1 folks...if I remember correctly, they have 3 left and have prepped/shipped bikes to many forum members.

What was your breakdown of the deal before tax and reg?
Every state has it's own sales/luxury tax percentage and registration fee. if you remove those variables, you can compare dealer's fees.

Your comparison should be based on:
    + Price of bike [negotiable]
    + Dealer setup [negotiable]
+ Dealer give-aways (i.e., free 1st service, cover, baseball cap, etc.)
+ Freight to dealer [set cost, typical even for new cars]
= Price of bike before tax/reg

These adders to the Out The Door Total shouldn't be used in comparing "Deals":
    - Tax
    - Registration/plate

in-state buyers here in Texas are just a hair over $7000 with the TTLFP

out of state buyers are $5999 plus the $420 freight to me, plus $100 prep.....you do your own taxes/plates in your home state. Come get it or we can arrange door-to-door shipping for you.

    Fee's reduced

    OK,

I got them to waive the freight and set-up fees.

    Sales price: $5999
    Admin Fee: $199
    Tire and bat fee $10
    Tag transfer $150
    Sales tax 6.5%: $413.27

    Grand total: $6,771.27

    This sounds more palatable!

Profit more than likely. Hey, everyones entitled to make a little profit otherwise why stay in business and remain a viable dealer. I can appreciate a $199 dealer fee....Certainly not several hundred dollars of BS though.

I'll follow up later today with my visit to dealer to finally check out this Mana 850.

I believe "Admin Fee" is one of those imaginary fees created to suck a little more money out of your pocket. That said, a Mana with a $3900 discount is still a good deal.

As others have said, this is a great deal. Jump on it before it disappears.

Got to demo ride the Mana.....LOVE the bike but I just cannot live without the traditional clutch. I'm crushed as I loved the bike otherwise.

Thanks for all your help guys. If they decided to blow out the shiver 750 I might go that route.
