An important part of a top case installation is reinforcing the luggage rack so that it can support the case and it's contents. Aprilia makes a kit to do just that. Their may also be other companies making top box mounting kits. The Aprilia kit bolts to the frame of the bike. I bought one and was very impressed with the quality and the design. Your top box can be bolted directly to the mount or to a quick release device that is bolted to the mount. The black plastic insert in the middle of your luggage rack was never intended to have a top box attached to it.

If you stop by an Aprilia dealer you may find their prices are quit competative. The Aprilia specific case for my Sport City was about 50% less than the comparible Saddleman and even a greater savings over the CooCase of the same size. The plus is that the Aprilia cases and mounts work very well with their bikes and are bolt on installations with no real fiddling. On my Sport City all it took was changing a factory rubber plug to a hook that easily screwed in the same place so the 35L case now just clips on and off the luggage rack with no tools only the cases key is required. If fits my XXL full face modular helmet too with room to store my riding jacket also. Last fomal I went to was halfway across the state and I just put on my suit coat and stowed the armor and helmet in the 35L Aprilia case when I arrived there.

These people offer a few cases that fit a Beo, and I have dealt with them for accessories before. They are pretty fair with you and offer great service, but I only dealt with their webpage. I think they are in the northeast somewhere as best I recall.

Thanks all looks like I might have more issue with my scooter than the battery. I fully charged it and started it this morning and multi-display showed 12.4 when I started it. Meeting a friend for lunch not far from home so going to take it and see if that changes. If not any ideas?

I know I keep saying Thanks but you have all been great and very helpful and I really appreciate the help.

I'm quite willing ot believe the battery/alarm problem the alarm system turned out to be the problem with my 2007 Scarabe and its starting problems according to AF1. Because I never quite trusted the 2007 after all the start issues and their randomness when AF1 had a new under warranty 2009 I traded in my 2007. Now I've got one that is extremely reliable and served me well on my recent trip from Houston to DC though the OEM tire decided to shred in Texarkana.

I do agree with leaving it on the tender when not in use from what AF1 said about problems if the battery gets too low and triggers some issues with the alarm. They recommended keeping it on the tender if it won't be ridden for 2 weeks.

Well there does seem to be some differences in the alarm on my 07 and on my 09. I don't know if it is a setting or what but on the 07 it auto alarmed within minutes of turning off the key on my 09 you have to manually arm it. I prefer manually arming it since I don't arm it when the scoot is parked inside my garage but do when say at a hotel or other place where there is more likely to be someone messing with it.

12.4 is good; no worries. You're OK unless it goes above 13.4 or so, or under 11.0 for a long-ish time when you're riding. If you keep an eye on it when you're riding you'll see the value change with the engine speed.
