    U.K. Dealer Recommendation

My local (ish) supplying dealer in Suffolk has changed hands and is no longer an Aprilia dealer.
I'm looking for reccomendations for V4 technical support in or near East Anglia / South East / London; I don't mind travelling 100 or so miles for a good specialist and I'm not interested in flash websites or shop fronts, just good service and perhaps a mug of tea!
    Cheers.

    Hi Stevie,

Yes, Maxmoto is under new ownership now, it's a shame but I'm not sure the new guys will be getting the Aprilia franchise back...

I bought my TV4 from Wheels in Peterborough (used to be Taz) and so far they have looked after me fine. There is a place in Felixstowe that is an Aprilia dealer, although it must be unofficial I think - Click here. I've never used them although they are my closest Aprilia dealer.

Otherwise there's Carl Harrison in Harleston, Norfolk who is very good, I've used him loads in the past on various Italian bikes, he really knows his Aprilia's and Ducati's (and others) although I'm not sure about his knowledge of V4's.

I was talking to a bloke in Hein Gericke, Braintree the other day who has a TV4, he's from Essex and did not have one good word to say about an Aprilia dealer in Chelmsford, sorry can't remember their name.

    Anyway, hope this helps...

Cheers for that. I posted on the RSV4 forum as well and 2 replys also reccommended Wheels - looks like I'll be taking a ride up there to say hello.

I used Maxmoto in preference to Wheels as I wanted dealer support a bit closer than 90 miles away. I bought my KTM from Gear 4 in Market Deeping and thought that a 200 mile round trip for a service was a bit of a hassle. Oh well, thats the way it goes.
I think Felixstowe M/Cs is really scooter stuff - don't know if Sid is still the boss there - I think I'd rather ride to and from Peterborough..........

If Ian at Maxmoto had had one in stock, I would have bought mine from him. Unfortunately he didn't, which left the door open for Wheels (who for me are a 100 mile trip compared to about 35 to Bury. At least at service time I can give it a good run!).

Wheels not only had one in stock but also gave me a better trade in on my Gen2 Factory, so I had a deal with them instead. At the time TV4's were in a bit of short supply and I wanted one bad...!

After I bought it I went in to Maxmoto to explain, (actually feeling a bit guilty that I'd gone elsewhere!) and within a couple of months they'd closed down, so I guess I did the right thing all things considered.

Any dealers reading this: We need a Suffolk Aprilia dealer!!!

On a similar note, given the recent collapse in Swindon of George White, does any know of the next nearest, and hopefully recommended, Aprilia dealer?

If you're at the Oxfordshire end of Wiltshire I'd suggest Forza Italia at Silverstone.

Got my gen2 Factory through them, & I'll be going back for servicing the TV4 as & when it needs it.

    Cheers
