    cold starting

Brilliant early spring weather arrived in Norway, blue and cloudless skies, stimulating thoughts of every bikers dream scenario... Use bike mainly for a 40 km commute. First morning of roster ride home, plus 2 degrees no start problem, next morning with an overnight temp of minus 7, rising to plus 3 at 09 30 am and the capo battery was not happy, the big v twin did not spark happily into life.Back the opening sentence, things are not always as bright and cheerie as they may seem.
    Current:
    2004 capo
Oberon slave cylinder, laminar lip, 4cm extra foam in riders seat, RR back shock , Hagon progressive front springs, 4 techauto coils, AF1 metal fuel line and connectors, brown connector replaced with direct wiring, kappa racks and cases, hepco becker top case, mandatory capo stickers

Have you changed your rectifier/ regulator? Mind you batteries don't like cold weather, but even so.....

-7 is not good for any bike battery, even some car batteries struggle with that temp, give your battery a good charge up, then finger's X'd it should be ok.

yeah went back a few hrs later when temp had risen to a sweltering 9 degrees + started straight off, so figure sitting outside overnight was not appreciated.

Yup,Do you have a bike cover,if you cant garage it overnight?
I remember my Guzzi in minus 4 was not happy, its a tough ask IMO.
Here,my Capo rarely sees anything below 7Deg.C

Can you plug a battery tender into the power socket when it's parked overnight? I've found that prolongs battery life a lot.
I'd like to die on Mars. Just not on impact.
The appropriate number of cylinders for any motorcycle is two.

Have now invested in a cover, bike is parked outside at work during the night and as long as theres no snow or ice i am forced to commute by inner compulsion. Spring may have sprung but we've still got 3 degrees C at night.

The cover might help a bit, but as Steve says, if you can plug the battery into a charger at work you should have no problems starting in the morning...
