    Augh! I lost my damned Key!!!!

    I am so livid right now. I finally moved my bike to my new place to prep it for track season, and somehow, while moving bikes around I managed to misplace my key. I have looked EVERYWHERE! this sucks balls.

    So, how much is it going to cost for a new ignition/key set? Might as well ditch the stock gas cap and throw on a yoyodyne. But damnit, I have always been so cognizant of my keys whereabouts. I do have one broken off spare. Should have got another one made, but was a lazy ass and now I pay the price.

    Wink up a creek?

    dragonfire;
    do you have all of the broken key?

    get a hold of Jim Hamilton......his number is in my sticky
    he is the Key Wizard

    if you have all of the key he should be able to cut a new one, I know he can clone the chip......

    All I have is a stub. Talked to AF1 and $440 later my problem will be solved.

    Curious what you're getting for that $$. Is that a new key cut and programmed based on your vin? Or is that an entire replacement lock set? I've only ever had one key for my bike, I'm thinking now I may want to get a spare before it becomes a problem.

    VIN has nothing to do with it...... its between the fixed chip in the key and the Immobilizer
    then you need the Blue Master Key

    vecio;
    2 routes
    >buy a blank from AF1, get it cut to match your original, then with the Blue Master Key make the Immobilizer recognize the new key
    >send your key to Jim(in my sticky) have him cut a blank and clone the chip (it won't look like an Aprilia key but will start your bike)

    Yes, its the entire set of key, ignition, immobilizer, gas cap and trunk lock. Shit, its mostly a track bike. How hard would it be to duct tape the key stub I have somewhere and bust the lock so I can just turn it off and on with no key????? Last resort. Deductible with insurance is set at $1000.00. Kicking myself for not being more responsible about a spare key and a cheap ass on the insurance.....oh well. Lesson learned.

    Which part of the broken key do you have left? If it´s the plastic part (with the chip in it) you should be fine for track use.
    Just remove the imobilizer antenna from the ignition lock and duct tape the plastic thingy to it...piece o cake.

    Id like to have a spare made, can anyone make a replica of mine using only the good working key, or is it impossible to get the immo signal code from just the working key?

    Get a blank spare, then take it to a guy that can do these high end keys. Next, go to your dealer to have it and the original re-coded. It won't work until you do.

    see Noels sticky. he has the master key. It works like this, the key you buy has a code in the chip internally. When the master key is used, it tells the immobilizer to look for the new key (and code) the immob then reads the code and stores it. it can store 3 codes total (3 keys)

    I got a new lockset off the forum here. Thanks! problem solved. track season here I come!
