Demand sensor... is that a TPS for the throttle tube that signals the ECU for the RBW?

Yeah, kind of, the throttle cables go into the 'demand sensor' (it's attached behind the LH fairing) which sends the ecu a signal (throttle demand) telling it how much throttle you have asked for

Just plugged in my PC5 to look at the trim tables and noticed all zeros right across the range (apart from 100%). After checking everything, I found the TPS voltage would start from zero and slowly drift it's way up to ~ 5v (100% throttle opening) and then just sit there. The Autotune has only been mapping this area..
The bike is running simply great but clearly something funny is going on.
I have ordered a replacement DS from the dealer to make sure.

Is the recall issued only through respective country importers? Or will it also apply to parallel import bikes

I have not, and own a '11 RSV4 SE, #006, purchased last May. The only mailing I've received thus far from Aprilia has been the roadside assistance card.

Funny, I think there was a recall on the Shiver's brake reservoir because they leak up top (including mine) but a recall letter was never issued in the USA. If they're replacing all of them everywhere and we in the States have the same part, I'd feel better if they replaced it here too. I just don't want to break down and be stranded somewhere far from home.

Good news from my side - The issue turned out to be a bad connection and not DS related at all.
Thanks to Richard at AR Racing for his help today (Saturday!), the bike is now running great.

I assume this is not the TPS???

My dealer told me it was the TPS being replaced under the recall. But that doesn't seem correct???

    Whats the VIN range?

    Replacement Demand Sensor Re-call

I received the letter today, straight from Noale, Italy. I'm in the UK with a 2011 Factory APRC.

The way the recall notice is written it sounds more like an upgrade. I have a feeling that there are some durability issues due to the locations of the sensor. Being right beside the exhaust header and subject to the possibility of direct water contact means that the sensor has a hard life.

It remains to be seen if the US gets the recall and if the pre-APRC bikes are also covered.

    Hi there,
I received mine for the replacement of the demand sensor. The letter says it is an upgrade to the characteristics of the electric loom. I am located in Greece and bought my 2011 APRC from the local dealer. I have called them up and the part is on order. I'll let you know when I have it replaced next week.
