    eBay folding clutch levers

I'd be scared to death of any eBay junk out there. Bought headlights for mustang years back trying to save a buck and they were horrible. I'd be willing to spend the money on a good name knowing that it won't let me down. Plus I'd hate to see some eBay stuff on an ape.... Not dissing you or eBay stuff, just my opinion....

I can't get the hardware loosened on them at all without things getting stripped out, and my tools aren't junk.. The original owner may have loc-tited them in there is my guess.

If anyone wants a pair of the ebay folding levers, PM me, I have a new set (full length) in black with red adjusters that I won't be using, I'll give ya a good deal on them.

yeah that set screw on the clutch side can be a pain. think its a 2mm allen head. If you have tried pb blaster maybe a little heat will help loosen them up

heat is your friend. You could also try heat cycling the parts. Freeze them for a while, then heat them. Basically just get the metal to move so things free up.

I have seen and touched those eBay folding levers and they are cheap junk immitation. Folding levers should be made like FP racing or Pazzo. FP racing only folds if you go down. Otherwise its stays straight pretty solid. Ebay ones just fold underregular touch. I would not put these levers on any of my bikes. I cannot say anything about 343 levers cause I have never seen them The ones I have seen from eBay have way too much free play in comparison to CRG, Pazzo, FP Racing or ASV. Considering that levers that are not precise can drag your brake and then the brake can lockup or not fully engage the clutch I would stay away, but everyone can make their own judgement

Again, with the disclaimer that I know Mike of 434 racer personally, I own several sets of his levers and am very pleased with fit and finish, not to mention quality. 1st, they are not folding levers so that aspect of things is not relevant however I do agree with you that folding levers should ONLY fold in a crash and not from regular use. Regarding free play on the 434's though, he has gone through the effort of comparing the play in his levers to several other brands on the market. It was a crowd sourced effort that took place on bandofriders.net and the response was that compared to asv, pazzo, crg, etc. his levers had more or less the same amount of play. In some cases he was better, in some cases worse. Without having all the various levers and master cylinders to directly measure I'm guessing the variance is a result of tolerance stackups between the levers and the m/c's. master's largely being cast parts the tolerance there is going to be somewhat high compared to a cnc'd part.
