    Malossi ECU?

My bike is performing almost the same way as it did before I had my stock ECU remapped. Now I have the Malossi 70 BBK ECU. At certain positions of throttle, it gargles fuel, similar to sputtering. Do I need to send my ECU to HGT to have it adjusted or what? Acceleration is also lacking, maybe my clutch is engaging later than it should? Feels that way. Gonna replace clutch soon. What's the deal with the Malossi ECU?

I don't know what TPS stands for or where it is located on my bike. I have the schematics for my bike, but I don't know where TPS wires are located.

    you go...

Not sure if it works on your scooter but
TPS Reset procedure If the TPS or ECU has been replaced, the TPS should be reset so the ECU can record the closed throttle return voltage as 0% opening.

    1. Turn on the ignition (Kill Switch to “Prime” or on). 2. Unplug the 4 wire TPS wiring connector for at least 10 seconds. 3. Turn the ignition off. 4. Plug the TPS connector back in. 5. Turn the ignition back on, wait until the dash has booted up completely. 6. Firmly open the throttle from the handgrip all the way and release to a closed position. 7. Leave the ignition on and initiate diagnostics and clear codes. 8. Turn off the ignition. 9. Turn the ignition back on, enter diagnostics and check for any TPS codes. __________________________________________________ ___________

To access ECU codes on Digidash model SR50 R Factory (2005 to present) go to the Diagnostics section of the Dash and when prompted, enter the code 45256. From there, you will be able to read as well as clear out the set codes. __________________________________________________ ____________________

To access the ECU codes on the Pre-Digidash model SR50 (1999 to 2004), turn throttle full open while engine is off (“Kill Switch” off). While holding throttle, turn the key on. Then the INJECTION CHECK light turns on, and after it goes off let go throttle. If everything was done right you are now in “Diagnostic Mode”

After that, if there are any errors stored in the ECU, the Injection Check Light will start to blink. Count the number blinks, and then check in the ECU Error Code table what each set of blinks means (e.g. If it blinks 10 times, then that is ECU Code 10, an error with the oil pump).

There is a 4 sec delay between each error blink. So you may get 3 flashes, then a pause, then 8 flashes, then a pause, then 20, etc. After you run the diagnostic 4 times, it resets or clears the codes (it’s taken into consideration that you fixed the error) from the ECU. If there is any other malfunctions, the injection light will blink again but other error(s) will be reported. If there aren’t any blinks, everything is OK. For now that is. Intermittent errors can appear and re-appear at

TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). Since you have a new ECU, a TPS reset is required.
Also required after an ECU re-flash.

Ok, TPS reset has been done and this time there were no error codes flashing from diagnostics mode. Giving the engine 5 minutes to warm up and then test driving again at 1/4 - 2/3 open throttle.

I think the engine is blown. I was riding, keeping it at 1/4 - 2/3 throttle, bike cut off. Checked compression, 92-95 psi. Blown engine? 60+ miles is all I have put on the new engine. Sad.

    WHAT!?!?

The compression is still OK, what is she doing (or not doing)? Is she making some kind of weird noise? Are there any code?

What was compression when you finished the build, before the first start?

90 PSI at my altitude is normal for a Di-Tech
