    Spring tidy up

    Hello all,
The Shiv was out of commission for a few months while waiting to scratch together enough cabbage for new tires. And I figured well hell, if I'm going to spend money I don't have, why not get more stuff! I picked up a carbon fiber tank pad off eBay which looks real nice, dropped in a DNA filter, EvoTech tail tidy, and a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2's. Back on the road and loving it. I took a nice ride up Palomar Mountain over the weekend and these tires are much better than the stock Metzlers.

I have one question for the pros here. Taking off the rear tire was my first time doing any real wrenching on this thing, and I had no problem getting it off or back on, but my question is how do you really know that the left and right side of the wheel are perfectly in line? The little adjuster bolt on the right side was screwed all the way in for some reason so I couldn't use that as a reference. Do you guys count threads? It feels fine while riding, but I can imagine that being a little off may have bad consequences in the long run. Any advice is appreciated.

Counting threads works. This website also does a good job of explaining another cheap and functional way of alingning the rear wheel also. There is also a small jig that fits into the axel and then marked at the swingarm pivot (usually). Both sides should measure the same length if the wheel is alinged.
