Slaying the Dragon 2012

This weekend I took the opportunity to ride down from Knoxville, TN to the Tail of the Dragon on the TN/NC border.

Good times to be sure. I would be great to run it with a horde of SR50's this Spring / Summer if folks were so inclined.

You're right, a swarm of SR 50s would be absolutely perfect.

The Tail of the Dragon run is legendary - it's mentioned often on the BMW Z3 forums I check out and one day I'd like to do it in the M Coupe and the SR50. Not necessarily at the same time though.

Yup, it's Imola Red and a real beauty. The ultimate garage queen and I only drive it in the summer so it's hibernating now. It's in my sig at bimmerforums, the detailing section. (I'm JohnZ3MC over there)

Ive got a black 09 M3 coupe. While it gets 1st place with any car Ive ever owned, I still put more miles on my SR50. Both are pleasure vehicles but I have 5X more miles on my scooter than my M. Would love to someday do the Tail of the Dragon trip. Thanks for sharing! Life is freakin good!

Captdan and Rosscofat,
do you think there's some corelation between the high end sport numbers like our Ms and the SR50? I'm thinking there is. As for the cars, at least you two can put your golf clubs in the trunk. Whoever designed my 'ultimate driving machine' never drove one to the golf course. Har, har, har. I can fit my bag and the short clubs in the 'trunk' but the woods and long irons have to go in the footwell of the passenger seat. How stupid is that? Mind you, I get to the golf course in record time and with an ear to ear smile.

back then if you owned a M coupe you owned another car... I had mine for just over a year and a half then sold it and started to travel a bit and spend my money better then on German Repair shops... 1000 for a service.. nah
