    I understand what you're saying now. There is no such thing as false air. You have an air leak, not a false air leak. A 'false' air leak would be something that looks like an air leak but isn't.

    update:
    it only revs at 2500rpm for about 10-15 seconds and then it idles normal.

    i left it idling for about a minute and the the engine cut out and fuel started coming out of the overflow vents in he carb when i turned the engine over. any ideas ????????///

    give it a rev or two and see if it drops to idle quicker, just give the screws a lil adjustment and see if it responds quicker and better........

    also as iv said i dont know if its normal because its cold ect but my mates areox idles at like 3-4k before dropping to idle after 10 sec? when its left in the cold for a few hrs but if the weather is good its fine

    and fuel flowing out the overflow when turning over:
    thats a new one on me, everything sealed up tight ect? maybe left the fuel on when not running? - patrick will probly know but thats new on me sorry
    one of my mates carbs on his SR > the over flow was litally just a hole at the bottom of the bowl with a pipe leading off, and the bowl spirelled down in a swirl so dont know how that holds the fuel...........

    i dont have a fuel tap mine is automatic :/ so i guess that could be the problem it try and start her again and give here a rev

    if its nto got a feul tap then it will be the same automatic fill up as my mates SR - and my old one i spose.........o and it wudnt be the problem in that case
    personally ithink something isnt sealed up properly on the carb, check the rubber seals ect - have you got some actual pictures of the bowl on urs and overflow ect? when removed

    Clean the carb, float is hanging mate, probably the float needle not sealing the float chamber off wen its full.

    Clean the carb, float is hanging mate, probably the float needle not sealing the float chamber off wen its full.
    Have you cleaned the carb? my old rx did the same i had the same problem patrick stated
    if you have a false air leak being drawn in by the engine (like between the carb and teh inlet manfold)

    start the engine and make sure choke is off

    get a areosol can of flammable contents like wd40, carburettor cleaner is best - so (dont get silly bout it like dont use de-icer)

    spray the carb cleaner around areas you think that there is a air leak > like the inlet manifol not sealed properly ect

    if the engine is running and you spray onto the air leak spot then the engine will suck it in and the revs will litrally go up for a second just like tapping the throttle,

    when the revs go up JUST FOR A SECOND then wherever you sprayed is drawing in false air so you seal accordingly
    right cleaned the carb, done the airleak test

    the carb now works fine and the air leak test came back NO airleak and i sprayed everywhere with the choke off

    heres a video of me revving i think it works fine now:


    only problem is now is it cuts out when it's idling sometimes ? :/

    Adjust the Idle screw with the Lights On! Think it just needs to idle slightly higher than it does not, maybe just 50~100rpm more and its good.

    Carb no longer leaks feul???

    carb stopped leaking fuel, it idle without cutting out after adjusting slightly higher like you said. and then it was working great. i went for about a hours ride with no problems

    but yesterday i filler up with petrol and the put some oil in i didn't measure it i just guessed. and i think i put too much in because it was hard to start and when it did start there was a bit of smoke and 10mins down the road it wouldn't idle. i checked the plug and it was black (was cream Coffey before) so i put anther one in and the it started for a few seconds and then cut out and that plug came out black too

    probly mixed it to heavy on oil light u said.....
    just clean spark plug, clean carb and then put a couple more litres of fresh fuel in to dilute the oil a bit
