i went for the 130 rear because from past experience of getting too low and nearly coming off the limit of the tyre. Now im no where near the edge of the tyre when getting low.

Yep fitted easy, Give the tyre a more of curve on the edges so no need to worry about going off the tyre when getting low. Speed is still the same.

    Cool Expanding your dimensions

The stock tire size on the back of my 05 GPR is a 130 and I'm currently running a 140 back there because I wanted to sport the BT003 RS Bridgestones. They are amazing multi compound tires (harder in the middle softer on the edges). These tires added a significant amount of stability to the bike, and with the recent Ohlins shock upgrade the bike tracks amazingly well.

Anyway I've written up some tire info for the GPR up on Bats--much of the info transfers well to the RS. For stock tire sizes the Savas have a lot to offer.

On stock size Michelin Pilot's you can, some other tires are not so nice for taking flat corners... Wider tire isnt gonna change that as the tire deforms on the narrow rim we got, (tire buldges in center as it gets sqeezed by the narrow rim) in some cases i feel like the bike falls inthe corner than wen you tip it as there 130 wide (stock is 110 wide)

Got some Battlax also on my other bike, they where really nice also in the corners because of the softer compound on the sides, and low wear because of the harder compound in the middle, what i seruosly didnt like about them was driving in the wet though, even a little rain was enough for the bike to start to slide.

I've had awesome traction with the BT003 RS in the wet. The make a lot of different Battlax tires, and it may be your suspension set up too. So many variables can account or a bike being good in the dry and horrible in the wet.

iv got battlax"s on my suzuki, i agree with what you"v put - already in the rain and lightly held the rear brake and can feel it slide however many metres on back.....

other than that i think nice tyres

    Cool Unequal Creation

Which BT's are you running? Because there are many different versions, and it would be nice to know which ones are having difficulty in the wet. For instance the BT45 is nothing like the BT016 or BT003 tires. I also believe that suspension plays a big part. When the MotoGP boys set their bikes up for a wet track they soften up the suspension in addition to changing the tires. They also program the engine management to deal with the wet (less power). We can effectively do the same stuff with our bikes by throttle control. Throttle control has a great effect over how the suspension reacts.

On the Mito I'm currently running the BT016. I bought these before I found the SP wheels. The stock rear is a 4x17, and the SP is a 3.5x17, so the 150 tire I have on the rear which had a nice profile on the stock wheel has a really round profile on the SP wheel. I was thinking to go for BT003 RS for the next go around however I'm finding the BT003 RS on the GPR to wear quickly on the rear--and by that I mean develop a flat spot from the in City riding. =8<>

BT45 i think, they got a bit more thread like yours, also had some racing tires for in the wet, but dont recall wich Battlax they where, but running them on dry road destroys them so i doidnt have them to long.

Pilot's got loads of grip and are nice and round and really feel like there glued to the road in the corners, i dare to run them much flatter in the corners than any other tire i had, there still ok in the wet as long as its not a downpoor.

Cool These are not your gram-ma's tires

The BT45 is an entry level bias ply, and doesn't come close to the BT003RS or BT016--which are about as high end as Bridgestone makes.

BATTLAX BT-45 is a touring type tire offered in both H and V rated speed symbols. BATTLAX BT-45 gives all-round street performance, with the emphasis on riding comfort, long mileage, wet performance, all designed by the latest tire developing technologies of Bridgestone. With the comprehensive tire sizes, BATTLAX BT-45 replace BATTLAX BT-35 and BT-17V.

I used to work at a Bridstone dealer, otherwise i would not have bought those tires.

BT39SS Mini or GP3 (track only (Slick/Wet, i "melted" my wets by runing them in the dry ) might be something you want to look at the next time you need some tires.
